My next #SisterhoodMatters Facebook Live guest is Abena Sekyiamah. With 10 years of experience as an entrepreneur and business manager, Abena has started not one, but TWO businesses in Ghana: MAKSI Clothing (which she started with her sister) and Cleaneatsgh. This Sunday at 4pm, we’ll be talking about the highs and lows of entrepreneurship and what she thinks about the myths on women supporting each other. She’ll also be sharing some insights on fashion, food, and customer service. If you’re thinking of starting a business - or looking for insights on successfully managing one - this is the conversation you want to be party to. Join us at Circumspecte this Sunday at 4pm GMT, and tag someone who could use this!

Abena Korantema Sekyiamah has a decade of experience in entrepreneurship and business management. She is the proprietor of Clean Eats (@cleaneatsgh), a healthy fast-food restaurant, headquartered in Tema, Ghana, providing nutritious beverages and meals to health conscious people.

In her words, “My clientele are a reflection of myself. They’re go–getters charged with the responsibility of making trans generational impact as such they live fast paced lives and understand the importance of SELF as a direct correlation to ones entire being. In order to be your best and give out your best, you have to nourish your mind, body and soul through good nutrition (eating from the earth), exercise and meditation/prayers. All three have to be in sync in order for you to lead”

Abena’s foray into the world of business began at the age of 22 when she co–founded MAKSI, a fashion label with her sister.

She holds degrees in psychology and sociology as well as a masters in business administration and marketing both from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Papa Oppong is a creative force to reckon with. The fashion illustrator and designer's work has been noticed by the likes of Rihanna, Ghana's Second Lady Samira Bawumia and Vlisco. How he got as far as he has? Find out during my Facebook Live conversation with him this Friday Sept 29 at 11am.

Many fashion designers incorporate African print into their products - but none quite like Adjo Dede Asare, CEO of Alfie Designs. Part 1 of my two-part conversation with her on how she's cracking the code on the business of fashion and taking her mother's 27-year old company global.
