Generally attributed to Tornado Francine, la Fontaine Médicis was originally constructed in the 17th century. Intervening changes of ownership and neglect led to many modifications including the present day sculptures showing the bronze of the giant Polyphemus observing Acid and Galatea in an intimate embrace. #paris #france #art #sculpture #statue #garden #trees #infrared #blackandwhite #travelling #travel #sonyalpha #batis

A beautiful statue on my late morning wanderings. It has been a rainy day with periods of hiding under awnings. #paris #france #statue #publicart #blackandwhite #infrared #architecture #sonyalpha #batis

The Death Gate of Angkor Thom. This was the gate by which the dead left the city for their final resting place. Like the rest of Angkor Thom the smiling face of Buddha adorns the top of the gate to welcome you warmly. #siemreap #cambodia #angkor #architecture #archeology #gate #buddha #travel #adventure

Isn't she adorable? I love her Teddy bear apron, it just invited a hug, especially in the freezing cold Seoul weather. The funny thing is for as advanced as Korea is the markets don't look all that dissimilar.

This is East Mebon and hundreds of years ago it was surrounded by water. It sat in a vast reservoir four thousand meters long and eight hundred meters wide. It would have once been a fantastic place of worship, something made obvious by its beauty in its current state.

Let me start by saying that I love this beautiful little nun. I met her at Preah Khan in 2012 and feel so fortunate that she is still there bestowing her blessings. Dad was especially touched by her and she gave him the biggest smile. All three of us received blessings that should provide us with safe travels. The tenacious woman warms my heart.

Sunrise almost snuck up on us. We arrived about and hour and a half before it came up in total darkness and fumbled through the temple even with the aid of flashlights. All of a sudden the stars were winking out and the sky began to grow warm. #cambodia #siemreap #angkor #angkorwat #temple #religion #architecture #archeology #unesco #sunrise #travel #wanderlust #adventure #natgeotravel #instagood #vsco #sonyalpha #zeiss

One of the many strangler figs trying to retake the temple and digest it into jungle again. These trees are amazing arboreal parasites! #cambodia #siemreap #temple #religion #architecture #landscape #archeology #tree #travel #adventure #wanderlust #natgeotravel #instagood #vsco #sonyalpha #zeiss

It seems like we barely slept last night to get up early enough for this shot of iconic Angkor Wat. While everyone was gathering at the edge of the reflecting ponds we were inside and had run of the place. It was beautiful and magical. The light trails are insects that were illuminated buy a burst of light from my flashlight. #cambodia #siemreap #angkor #angkorwat #temple #religion #architecture #archeology #travel #wanderlust #natgeotravel #night #stars #longexposure #sonyalpha #zeiss
