Introduction
For more than 20 years, I've been on the job, reporting on arts and culture in West Michigan including such events as ArtPrize, LaughFest and Festival of the Arts. I'm a cultural observer, progressive thinker, history buff, wordsmith and loyal Western Michigan University graduate. I'm a Detroit-area native, but I left my heart on Beaver Island. Politics is my sport of choice. I watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. My unattainable life goal is to come close to sounding like Ben Webster on tenor sax.
