Found a stray wandering out neighborhood. Looks like he's been on his own a while and could use a good home. He's friendly and gets along well with our two dogs, two ferrets, and cat. Any help placing him would be appreciated. Martha has taken to calling him Fido (Feedo, as she pronounces it).

Awesome. Just spoke with someone about doing biker portraits as part of a fund raiser.

A friend is wanting to know a legitimate place to get certified in hardware data recovery. Any ideas?

Here are some results from Saturday's portrait shoot with members of my motorcycle riding group. The day was a lot of fun, though very hot. We had to keep exiting the studio to cool off in the 100 degree breeze. But, I think I got some good shots. As always this group was just a whole lot of fun. Something about hanging out with bikers, talking about bikes and trips, and spending the day behind the camera. Two of my favorite things. Also mixed in some detail shots of a couple of the bikes at the request of the rider.

This shot is from a lighting test for a shoot on Saturday. Saturday morning some members of my riding group will be at my home studio for portraits with their bikes.

The lighting setup for this shot is:
Two studio lights against 50" umbrellas front and near the back
One speedlight clamped to the backdrop stand above and right of the bike
One speedlight through a small softbox in front of the camera for fill

On the day of the shoot I will likely replace the umbrella camera left with a large shoot through scrim camera left and slightly above the bike. I will also be adding a softbox and rim light for the rider. What I would really like is another 30 feet of length and 10 feet of width to the studio... But you work with what you've got.

I'll try another test tomorrow, in full daylight, with the scrim and, maybe, my 50mm. If I can drop the aperture enough, maybe I can get that background to blur our a bit (I doubt it. I will probably need a higher synch speed, but worth a try).

Using AustinDrupalUsers.org as my initial pilot to refine a solid (for me) web design/dev workflow with Drupal. The idea is to build a community site for Drupal users in the greater Austin Metro Area. Once the site is built and I am confident in the workflow, I will document the process with examples from the site's development and present it to the Newbie group.
