Tonight — and every other night — I am committed to having dinner together with my family. It’s important to make family dinners a priority. They allow us time to hear about each other’s day, give thanks for the good things in our lives and spend quality time together. One of my favorite Lenten practices is taking part in the efforts of CRS Rice Bowl. This Lent, CRS Rice Bowl has put together new stories and new recipes for each week of Lent, and I will be sharing one story and one recipe with you each Sunday in Lent. The first story and recipe comes to us from Tanzania. You can find it here: http://catholicfoodie.com/ugali-with-bean-soup-from-tanzania-4lent4life

I am so excited about this free online conference for Catholic moms. And the timing is perfect, now that we are in Lent. The conference is from March 6 to March 9, 2015, and you can sign up – for free! – here: http://CatholicConference4Moms.com. I am also honored to be a presenter for this conference. My presentation is entitled: How You and Your Family Can Eat Your Way to Salvation – A Foodie’s Guide. I can’t wait to share it with you! Just a week after registration, over 1000 Moms have already signed up for the conference! Learn more here: http://catholicfoodie.com/catholic-conference-4-moms-march-…

If King Cake really comes from the Catholic celebration of King’s Day – or Epiphany, January 6th – then why is it now associated with Mardi Gras? What do YOU think? Click here to learn more: http://catholicfoodie.com/how-is-king-cake-connected-to-mardi-gras

“Highly recommend this cookbook! It reads like a travel log through the Middle East and the recipes are delicious. I’ve cooked 26 recipes and many of those frequent our daily menu, Israeli salad has become my favorite breakfast. My husband loves it all, from Mutabal to Baked Fish Kibbeh. The recipes are well written for all cooks and all faiths.” Read the rest here: http://catholicfoodie.com/around-the-table-with-the-catholic-foodie-highly-recommended

Lino Rulli, The Catholic Guy on Sirius/XM’s The Catholic Channel, will be back in New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year, broadcasting from Notre Dame Seminary on Monday and Tuesday this week.
Lino came down for Mardi Gras in 2010, and then again last year. If you have never heard Lino’s show, you need to give it a listen. It is thoroughly entertaining and quite inspirational. And did I mention it is a load of fun? Well, it is. Check it out: The Catholic Guy Show.
The Catholic Foodie will join Lino on his show this week on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. On Monday and Tuesday we will have a live audience.
Do you want to be part of the live audience?
If so, email me at jeff[at]catholicfoodie.com and let me know. Make sure to tell me which day you want to be there, and I’ll get back with you with the details.

The Catholic Foodie... Where food meets faith!
Introduction
The Catholic Foodie brings much more to the table than merely recipes and reviews. The show highlights how food - good food - can be a sign to us of God’s love and care for each of us and our families. The tagline, "where food meets faith," speaks volumes about the importance of family, which is so often developed around the kitchen table.
