Quick ride to Antelope island. The great salt lake is very low and mostly dry. Lots of dust storms blowing across the lake.

Many many moon pictures to go through.   Attempting to make a short time lapse but due to limited time to align the mount I have to do some cropping and stabilizing to get everything running smoothly.

"But even this combination — the acuity of the human eye augmented by fantastically large and powerful telescopes — was extraordinarily limiting. Even today, observers using astronomical equipment and only their eyes to look through it can scarcely do better than Rosse did nearly two centuries ago.

But the potential was there for so much more. With the relatively new invention of the photograph, it was recognized that if this technique could successfully be applied to astronomy, we would no longer be bound by the limits of the human eye."

Have you ever enjoyed a picture of deep space? Bet you never heard of this "amateur" who made it all possible!
If you’ve ever seen a beautiful picture of the Universe, thank this pioneer you’ve probably never heard of.

It looks like the thief has confessed at least.  Half the fun in astrophotography is the challenge it takes to capture these amazing images.

This is what an #astrophotography  THIEF is, and he stole photos from +Tanja Sund and I, and most likely others.

Please help spread the word!
