My lunches used to consist of things like a TV dinners, massive burritos from Chipotle, mammoth burgers w/ endless steak fries from Red Robin or other such mega-Calorie, high carb meals. I've given that up for more sensible foods.

I'm not disappointed.

So, earlier this week, I cleaned off the "coat rack" (aka elliptical machine.) I started light, 20 minutes and only up to 5 resistance (out of 10.) It felt good. I've been increasing my time but keeping the resistance the same.

My goal is to get up to at least 45 minutes per workout, with 80% of that on a 7 resistance of higher.

For the first time in my life, I'm going to have to buy a smaller belt. Hopefully, in a few months, I'll be "complaining" about buying a smaller wardrobe.

Y'all still got time to get your mail art in for the show. I just mailed mine this morning.

Non Juried - Open Theme "Mail Art Show"

Postcards are due by August 14 for the August 28 opening.

Send a postcard to +Gallery at Yucca Flats and we will hang it on the wall. How are we going to make money? We aren't, that's not the point. We are creating an experience for all involved. So get out your pencils and pens and send us something fun for the gallery walls.

That is one reason I like Ubuntu.. Stuff just works! I spend all day working on a wireless and wired telephone and broadband network I cant stand beating my head against the wall to get simple things to work! When Ubuntu upgraded to Unity and Gnome3 I switched over to CentOS as I did not know if the mate project would make it or not. After the first few hours I remembered why I had left the RedHat world..  Every thing I wanted to do needed a kernal mod to work! The only nice thing about Cent was that I could get Compiz working with the Extras pack this got the fire to show up when the menus close this is a feature no longer available on Ubuntu as the package has been deprecated. I switched back to Ubuntu when 14.04 was released and I am so happy to be back home! I am running a stock Ubuntu kernel and every thing works as expected!

My major tasks for Saturday are complete: install a rain barrel and get a compost barrel.

Time for some fun.

+Jess Boudrie , they're both made by Good Ideas, Inc. (http://www.goodideasinc.com/products/rain-barrels/) We got both at Tractor Supply, though most big box stores (Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, etc.) should carry them. Best check for availability because these are generally sold in spring and early summer only (they were about put these away to make room for fall and winter,) otherwise you may have to order off the web and pay a hefty delivery fee.

These books are great!

And now we make it all official-like...

BONEWHITE is now available just about everywhere books are sold online.

Each serving of my five-course series of short mysteries finds a new narrator wandering into an eerie supernatural underworld hovering just below our own.

Their only guide is a brash and reclusive genius known to the outside world as an eccentric chef.

But as events reveal the darker truth, each narrator must decide who to trust and how far they're willing to go to stop a powerful adversary from consuming all.

"Intoxicating."
“Totally original."
"Unusual and unpredictable."

In BONEWHITE . . .

A priest has been brutally murdered, his bones ripped from his still-living body, leaving his sister bereft and full of rage.

But as she relentlessly presses for answers, her investigation leads her to the locked doors of the sanctum, the refuge of the reclusive Étranger, where her insatiable desire for justice becomes the killer’s greatest weapon and the final downfall of the world’s greatest shaman-sorcerer.

“Bonewhite,” an occult mystery about the corruptions of power, is available now on most online retailers.

Introduction
I work in computers (that whole "cloud" thing.) If I told you any more about my job, your eyes would glaze over.

I live in rural Virginia because I prefer the sounds of nature over the sounds of city traffic.

I support the arts as directly as possible - because art, in all its forms, must thrive.

I enjoy people - because man was not meant to be alone.

My principle philosophy: If you're not having fun doing what you're doing, make it fun. If you can't make it fun, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

"If you don't have a plan, you can end up doing some interesting things." - Karl Pilkington

Circling
I will probably not circle you back if:
  • You have no posts
  • You don't fill out your profile (how am I supposed to identify with you otherwise?)
  • You only post links to websites/photos/videos
  • You are obviously advertising your business
  • You're pawning yourself off as a "SEO [whatever]"
  • You don't speak English
Bragging rights
I got pulled over for driving 55 in a 25. I drove away with a verbal warning.

I already knew exactly what I wanted before I stepped into the showroom, I only needed to test drive the '11 CRV before making my final decision. Theresa explained the available options and handled the sale quickly. The only negative about my buying experience was waiting for the financing manager to get through with another couple - though I can't blame that on the financing manager, sometimes it just takes time (unfortunately, my 2 year old son doesn't understand that.) We got good financing terms and they issued plates on the spot.
