I saw this on CBS This Morning and immediately thought of Wendy Bauer Piersall. I was half expecting to see her or her work pop up in the story.

There's still time ... If you are in the Seattle area and a SharePoint Enthusiast you should check out the SharePoint Fest event.

It starts tomorrow with training classes and runs thru Thursday with great content, speakers and sponsors.

Who will I see there?

My latest on FORMS ... with a mention of George Seybold's new company Talloo and the realization that Forms may be the "new" workflow.

Take a look, let me know what you think. Especially about the last point.

Taylorism is Back … with a Vengeance

Sometimes just speeding up the production is not enough and not the right way to increase production. It certainly not always the way to increase yield, quality or employee longevity.

Which is why I was really happy to hear someone on the national news the other day mention Taylorism. (Even though I'm not sure they knew what it meant).

Are you planning a vacation before Summer ends (or Winter Starts for my friends south of the equator)?

There's still time to plan a Perfect Working Vacation. I wrote this for U.S. News and World Report and I hope you'll be able to put some of these points good use (or already have).

This is a #TBT --- I have heard several comments that there is no such thing. I beg to differ. I get it that people want to disconnect and should. But, sometimes that not possible. Here are a few tips for making it possible to do both.

Drop a comment about your perfect (working) vacation plans.

Post 1 for The Opt-In Economy

Are you in? The simple answer is ... YES!

Do you want to be in? I cannot answer that for you. But, I can tell you there are times you probably do want information about you to be captured.

What do you think? Are personal email addresses important?

I can tell you from personal experience ... they are.

What's your story with personal email addresses?

Story
Introduction

I helped found and am on the board of the Social Media Club Seattle. I have helped organize the Twestival Seattle events and I spend a lot of time thinking about how Social affects Businesses and vice-versa.

I am a veteran of the Enterprise Content Management industry. Over the past 20 years I have worked with customers and partners around the world to design, develop and deploy solutions that exactly meet their needs. Currently I am the Director of Strategic Alliances at Winshuttle where we help optimize complex business processes in SAP and Microsoft SharePoint. I have also worked for Microsoft, Kodak, FileNet (IBM), K2, Captaris, Open Text, and Kofax. I travel a lot, as well as speak and write about ECM and the intersection of Social, Mobile and Cloud Computing and how companies are putting these tools to work in their businesses.

In my spare time I like to get out and ride my Mtn Bike, Wake Surf, ride my Stand Up Paddle (SUP) board, and spend time watching and helping our kids in all of their endeavors.

My two mottos:

Take Responsibility for your Own Actions and Life is Short … Live it!

I've been here several times and I will keep coming back. It's got old world charm and a great menu plus a nice wine selection. I've had the Sweetbreads, the Steak au poivre and the Beef Bourguignon. Try them all ... you will not be disappointed. Stay for a while and enjoy the ambiance.
