Mistakes, Mea Culpas and Moving On

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” ~ Albert Einstein

I was reminded of this today by a K2 friend Edna van Rensburg

Also, in honor of Gravitational Wave being confirmed ... long after Albert Einstein had predicted them. Scientist keep at it ... trying new things, new ways to measure them ... and this week they did it.

Interesting. Could this be Microsoft's next acquisition?

He worked the magic with Yammer. No matter what happens David Sacks is a smart guy. I'm sure he'll do well.

Flashback post to a year ago.

Let's call the NFL what it is ... A Capitalistic Endeavor

Remember DeflateGate? Does Roger Goodell worth 51 times the lowest paid NFL player?

The NFL has the public eating out of it's hand ... while doing a reach around for their wallet to pay for that new stadium.

Somethings never change. The Rams and Chargers and Raiders all want to move to LA. Why? Is is the weather or the perks? I have a theory.

Full Disclosure: I am a fan of capitalism. Some of this may come off as a rant. That’s not my intent. I hope it spurs conversation and thinking.

Story
Introduction

I helped found and am on the board of the Social Media Club Seattle. I have helped organize the Twestival Seattle events and I spend a lot of time thinking about how Social affects Businesses and vice-versa.

I am a veteran of the Enterprise Content Management industry. Over the past 20 years I have worked with customers and partners around the world to design, develop and deploy solutions that exactly meet their needs. Currently I am the Director of Strategic Alliances at Winshuttle where we help optimize complex business processes in SAP and Microsoft SharePoint. I have also worked for Microsoft, Kodak, FileNet (IBM), K2, Captaris, Open Text, and Kofax. I travel a lot, as well as speak and write about ECM and the intersection of Social, Mobile and Cloud Computing and how companies are putting these tools to work in their businesses.

In my spare time I like to get out and ride my Mtn Bike, Wake Surf, ride my Stand Up Paddle (SUP) board, and spend time watching and helping our kids in all of their endeavors.

My two mottos:

Take Responsibility for your Own Actions and Life is Short … Live it!

I've been here several times and I will keep coming back. It's got old world charm and a great menu plus a nice wine selection. I've had the Sweetbreads, the Steak au poivre and the Beef Bourguignon. Try them all ... you will not be disappointed. Stay for a while and enjoy the ambiance.
