Inkwire - Firebase Dynamic Links

In case you missed it, Inkwire is my upcoming remote assistance app.

Anyways, Firebase introduced a "Dynamic Links" feature at Google I/O. This lets you deep link into an app, before the app is even installed. Dyamic Links enabled me to build one of the headline features of Inkwire, which IMHO makes the setup experience super seamless.

You can send your friend a link that requests them to share their screen. If they don't have Inkwire installed, it prompts them to install it, and then upon opening the app, it immediately starts your screen share session. No need to pass around access codes or fiddle with anything else. Check out the video below, the Android on the right doesn't have Inkwire installed when it receives the request to share its screen.

Inkwire Beta (now available):

There’s a new way to make strong passwords, and it’s way easier

A new standard is emerging for passwords, backed by a growing number of businesses and government agencies — to the relief of computer users everywhere. No longer must passwords be changed so often, or include an incomprehensible string of special characters. The new direction is one that champions less complexity in favor of length.

The dangerous cost of ‘free’ Wi-Fi
If it seems too good to be true, it probably is!

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Free Wi-Fi is no exception to this adage.

Song for today....
Trading punches with the heart of darkness
Going to blows with your fear incarnate
Never gone until it's stripped away
A part of you has gotta die today

In the morning you gon' need an answer
Ain't nobody gonna change the standard
It's not enough to just feel the flame
You've gotta burn your old self away

My wife and I enjoyed a a couple night get away in Ojai, CA this week. It is a quite little town just North of Ventura. We purchased a deal online for the Capri Hotel and had a GREAT stay! We were a little worried based off other reviews, but we found the Capri to be a hip little refurbished hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, light and colorful. Nice Bamboo wood floors. LCD TV on the wall. The pool area is nice. It isn't heated, but when it is 90+ outside it feels great to take a cool dip. The hot tub was nice. The staff was welcoming and helpful. This is not the Ritz, but if you are looking for a nice quiet place to relax and get away this is a great option!

Our family had a great stay at the Zen Hotel. Very nicely refinished hotel. The rooms are clean and up to date. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are quiet. Awesome shower too!
