Sorry to be negative, but in this case actions speak louder than words. They've given up on G+. It's obvious.

I applaud Google and their work on many fronts, and I look forward to the age of driverless cars. But it's a company of engineers and they will never grok social media.

I had such high hopes for G+.
Good news everyone! Larry Page still loves Google+. +Larry Page replied to the question of whether Google still loves Google+ on his Alphabet announcement post a couple of days ago. Larry's reply in the comments of his G...

I just uploaded a new podcast - an interview with Lyndsay Faye, author of the new novel THE FATAL FLAME, a historical thriller set in 1840s New York City.

“It’s been almost twenty years since Caleb Carr’s bestselling Olde New York crime novel, The Alienist, was published, and I can’t count the number of times since then that someone has asked me if I can recommend a suspense story anything ‘like it.’ Well, New York has inspired lots of terrific thrillers, but I’ve just stumbled on one of the worthiest successors yet. Lindsey Faye’s novel, The Gods of Gotham.” Maureen Corrigan, Fresh Air (NPR)

My local guild's quilt show is this weekend.

I added hanging sleeves to these two quilts this week - they'll be in the show.

For anyone in New England, the show is Saturday and Sunday at the UMass Amherst Campus Center. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. both days.

Great explanation of virtualization. The latest trend in virtualization is virtualized GPU (vGPU). With virtualization, especially in large companies, IT depts have struggled with how to deliver high quality graphics for graphic-intensive apps via virtualization. GPUs were never designed for virtualization. Hence, the two most common workarounds to date for high-quality graphics in virtualized environments was GPU Sharing or Pass-through.

Now, NVIDIA purposely engineered GRID and its new GPUs to be truly virtualizable to serve multiple concurrent users without any performance or latency penalty.

Here’s a youtube video that show’s a side-by-side comparison of NVIDIA GRID vGPU vs. CPU only -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7TaPRW93Qs&feature=youtu.be

This weekend was the Hands All Around Quilt Show 15 in Amherst, MA. This is a show organized every other year by my local quilt guild, of which I'm a member, the Hands Across The Valley Quilt Guild.

This is a selection of some of the quilts that were on display.

Story
Introduction
For 16+ years, I've worked in public relations-media relations representing technology, media, and marketing companies. In 2006, I started my own PR consulting business - Jeff Rutherford Media Relations - after working for several New York City PR agencies.

I stay very busy. I record a podcast - the Reading and Writing podcast - where I interview writers and authors about their books, their writing habits, and authors/books that they enjoy reading. I run an eBook publishing company - Delabarre Publishing

When I'm not working or spending time with my family, one of my hobbies is quilting. I'm a member of QuiltGuy, an online discussion group of male quilters. We have regular quilting retreats, and here's a photo album from our last retreat.

I have a BA in Journalism from the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. I worked at newspapers in Georgia, Texas, and Louisiana, and as a literary agent at the Denise Marcil Literary Agency in New York City, before entering the public relations-marketing industry.

A native of Macon, Georgia, I now live in Conway, Massachusetts with my wife and two sons.

Mark and his AMC team have been stellar in everything they've done for me. They respond quickly with a knowledgable strategy and and an actionable plan to move forward. I repeatedly refer people to the AMC team because I know what they've done for me over the years. Highly recommended!!

Pioneer Valley CrossFit has been life changing for me, and I don't say that lightly. At 46, I was living a very sedentary life. I've been doing CrossFit at Pioneer Valley CrossFit for 1.5 years now, and I've had nothing but great experiences. I love the intensity of the training, and every single coach I've worked with at Pioneer Valley CrossFit has been great - attentive with a ton of great feedback and suggestions on improvement. I've dropped in at some other CrossFit gyms while traveling. Nothing could compare to the programming and coaching at Pioneer Valley CrossFit. Highly recommended!!

Great beer, good food, great community and family atmosphere. I've lived in Western Mass since 2002, and we eat at The People's Pint at least a couple of times a month and love the food and experience.

Rich at Green River Auto is a great mechanic. I can always depend on on Rich and his team to give me an accurate assessment of whatever repairs my car might need. Honest and dependable. Highly recommended.
