I bottled a couple of batches of wine in addition to the wheat beer. On the left is a blueberry melomel (mead) that I made in February. On the right is a batch of Concord grape wine made from Welch's frozen concentrate. We'll see how they turn out in a few months.

I whipped up a 1 gallon all-grain batch of American Wheat yesterday. The fermentation was going pretty good this morning when I checked.

I'm just posting these pics from brew days on July 15th and 16th. I brewed Chocolate Milk Stout partial-mash on the 15th and all-grain Bourbon Barrel Porter on the 16th.

Primary was winding down last week when I took a gravity reading and added cacao nibs to the Stout. I soaked oak chips in George Dickel No. 12 for a couple of days and added that to the Porter a couple of days later.

I kegged some Bavarian Hefeweizen last night. I'm hoping to sample it this evening with friends.

It was full of clove flavor when I tasted it warm and flat.

It's good now, but it will be better after a week or two.  A little aging always makes it taste better.

Looks like my Hefeweizen may be ready for bottling/kegging. I'll check it again a couple of times to make sure, but I'm pretty sure it's ready.

This was the gallon batch of all-grain American Wheat that I brewed last week. I bottled it and primed with honey.

Oatmeal Cookie Brown Ale in the fermenter after an all-grain brew day. I used the BIAB (Brew In A Bag) method to mash and sparge the malt and oats. This should make a good holiday beer.

Here are my two batches of Concord wine currently in progress. The larger batch was made from grapes from my parent's vine. The smaller batch is from Welch's Frozen Concord concentrate. It's my first time using either.

Original gravity was about 1.094 for each batch and as you can see they have fermented down pretty far. They should be ready to bottle by the first week of October.

Since the first batch was so good, I brewed another batch of Cream Ale with Orange Peel yesterday. I used Safale US-05 this time instead of Wyeast liquid yeast. Fermentation is going well, but we'll see how it compares when the drinking begins.

This seems to be a very good video on all-grain recipe design.

We always get good food and service here. It is a very popular place because it is so good, so sometimes you have to wait to get a seat. I highly recommend this place for fresh, local seafood (plus King Crab and Snow Crab).

Great food, nice folks. If you think 'Tres Amigos' is the best in town, you've never eaten here. On second thought, keep going there so I'll be able to get a seat at La Tiendita. Edit: I'm upgrading my 'Service' rating from my initial review. Edit: I'm upgrading my 'Decor' rating due to renovations at the restaurant.
