This gentleman was proud to demonstrate how to operate the railroad traffic gate.  The demonstration included a siren and actual traffic stoppage.   #whereisthetrain

The essence of this unique spirit reminds me of hiking through mountain trails in the Pacific Northwest.

Such talent.

Lighthouses are the guardians of the ocean, radiating warm, special energy. I headed out in early dawn to the edge
of the cliffs at Cape Elizabeth, watching the lighthouse cast its magical beam over the ocean. The Atlantic has such a distinctive smell and combined with the crashing ocean really made this scene unforgettable.

I set up my camera watching the orange glow on the right hand side of the frame, balancing this shot. As the pinks really kicked in, I took a series of exposures, and selected this frame for the galleries. The sun rays over the water added unique perspective and depth to the image. It was a magical morning that I hope I captured on film.

If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
Introduction

I like technology including Android, Google App Engine, Google TV, and just about anything with UNIX genetics.

Photography has been a long time hobby since I bought my first Nikon FG SLR in 1985. I credit Google+ for a higher level of interest thanks to the ease in which I can see and appreciate the work of other, more skilled, photographers.

I'm an avid espresso/coffee drinker and have been roasting coffee since 1993.  My wife and I owned a successful wholesale coffee roasting company called Jumpy Monkey which we sold in 2003.  I'm currently working on a coffee roaster automation project involving Android.

My technical job experience includes programming, system administration and architecture (Unix, database,SAP Basis) .  I have a strong passion for technology and proven track record of performance analysis/tuning at all levels of the application/SAP stack.

My leadership experience includes managing technical administration teams (Unix, Database, SAP Basis).

Above my work experience, I am most proud of my wonderful family.  I adore my wife who is the mother of my three beautiful children.

I have a life goal of someday living in Deutschland.

Because of the outstanding service, I've become a regular customer. Great espresso for my morning stop and a nice selection of microbrews for my Friday evening visit. The food menu is very creative and reasonably priced. A wonderful atmosphere.

My family of five enjoyed our four night stay. Great hosts, beautiful view, easy access to the beach, and wonderful breakfasts. We will be back for sure.

Owners are very friendly. The food quality is very good and consistent. The menu is mostly Japanese but they have a couple pages dedicated to Korean food. I prefer Korean food and my favorite is dolsot bibam bap.

Ordered a custom cake for both my daughter and son's birthday. Daughter's cake was a chocolate cake decorated beautifully as Disney's Ariel theme complete with sea shells and a sea theme. My son's cake was a beautiful representation if the Swedish flag. They even made my son's cake gluten free. Both cakes tastes great. Very creative.
