My cousin built a barn on his farm in South Dakota. I'm a huge fan of timber-frame construction which is the only way to build a proper barn. The basketball hoop is on the second floor. #barns

The highlight of my weekend was meeting and hearing the story of Theo Makombe, a Rwandan genocide survivor and brother in Christ. Theo shares his story in the book, The Race for Life - Memoirs of a Rwandan Genocide Survivor. He was fourteen when the genocide began which killed nearly one million people in one hundred days. He was forced to run daily to escape the killings. In his area, only three hundred survived out of fifty thousand. His mother, before she stopped running, told Theo to keep running and never stop.

During his talk, Theo said two things that left a deep impression on me. Theo said, "I had to experience hell to crave for heaven." It was years later, while attending school, that Theo was invited to prayer and heard the Gospel of Jesus. "Words you speak is what gives people life" said Theo.

I'm looking forward to reading his story. See the comments below for a link to his book.

Introduction

I like technology including Android, Google App Engine, Google TV, and just about anything with UNIX genetics.

Photography has been a long time hobby since I bought my first Nikon FG SLR in 1985. I credit Google+ for a higher level of interest thanks to the ease in which I can see and appreciate the work of other, more skilled, photographers.

I'm an avid espresso/coffee drinker and have been roasting coffee since 1993.  My wife and I owned a successful wholesale coffee roasting company called Jumpy Monkey which we sold in 2003.  I'm currently working on a coffee roaster automation project involving Android.

My technical job experience includes programming, system administration and architecture (Unix, database,SAP Basis) .  I have a strong passion for technology and proven track record of performance analysis/tuning at all levels of the application/SAP stack.

My leadership experience includes managing technical administration teams (Unix, Database, SAP Basis).

Above my work experience, I am most proud of my wonderful family.  I adore my wife who is the mother of my three beautiful children.

I have a life goal of someday living in Deutschland.

Because of the outstanding service, I've become a regular customer. Great espresso for my morning stop and a nice selection of microbrews for my Friday evening visit. The food menu is very creative and reasonably priced. A wonderful atmosphere.

Owners are very friendly. The food quality is very good and consistent. The menu is mostly Japanese but they have a couple pages dedicated to Korean food. I prefer Korean food and my favorite is dolsot bibam bap.

Ordered a custom cake for both my daughter and son's birthday. Daughter's cake was a chocolate cake decorated beautifully as Disney's Ariel theme complete with sea shells and a sea theme. My son's cake was a beautiful representation if the Swedish flag. They even made my son's cake gluten free. Both cakes tastes great. Very creative.
