Some of the disparities in our cultures, however, make transferring that style of classroom to the US an insurmountable goal. And I sure wish we could eliminate helicopter Moms & Dads in this country. Our kids used to do better when they actually had to do the stuff themselves, as it appears the Finnish kids do.
I remember roads that looked like an ice rink, being an hour late to a meeting, and presenting a roadmap that had graphs in spreadsheets as a "definitely sometime" and presentations was a coming feature of the word processor! Fun times...
