Great introduction, through literature (and TV), to the strength femininity can bring.

"Right now, Sansa may not have Arya's blood-lust, Brienne's physical power, Cersei's political acumen or Daenarys' ambition (or, you know, dragons), but she's still one of the strongest characters in the series. It's just that we're not used to recognizing her strength for what it is.

The female characters we tend to applaud typically adhere to a particular formula for strength, one that breaks the patriarchal mold of how a woman should behave. This can be empowering, but the constant regurgitation of this one type of "strong female character" limits the kind of women we value on screen and dismisses the merits of those who prove themselves in a different way."

We weren't celebrating my birthday, but I pretended we did.

Perfect timing.

I think the last total lunar eclipse I saw was off the Yacek's porch in highschool.

2.5 hour long walk with the pup today. Beautiful mid-60 degree weather.

I took the time to lay out in the grass and watch the clouds go buy for awhile.

I also spent time looking at the graves in the local graveyard and was surprised to see that a lot of people that were born in the 1800's lived into their 70's.

Guess the age of death isn't going up after all.

Huh. That's what was confusing me. I didn't think you had any terrain worth noting near your house.

In other news, the number of babies named Khaleesi has gone up from 0 to a number above that.

In tragic turn of events, number of people naming their babies Khaleesi exceeds zero:
Game of Thrones fans are using Daenerys Targaryen's royal title as a baby name — and it isn't even a name!

What bothers me about this is that a lot of people refer to her as Khaleesi instead of her actual name. Naming someone Khaleesi is like naming your daughter Queen, it's nonsense.

Temporal Anomalies in Popular Time Travel Movies

Introduction to temporal anomalies in time travel films, with illustrations of types of paradox.

The food is what it is, great ice cream. I only gave a "good" rating here because their smoothies leave much to be desired, leaving several of them half-blended or too thick to suck up with a straw (meaning I need a spoon, which means it's ice cream and not a smoothie.) The fruit smoothies are a great treat, but there are few combinations. The prices are too high on the smoothies though.

I can go in and say "Make me look good," and they never give me a hard time about the details. The stylists always give me a great cut, and chatting with each and every one of them has been pleasant, cheerful, and fun.

My experience with the location was limited to only the arcade and ice cream parlor, as the mini golf and go karts were not open yet for the day (they do not open until 3pm in the spring.) The arcade was small, but had some current games. Skeeball was a pleasant surprise, as it retained the old 1980's feel and price (25 cents per game). It gave tickets out like candy too. Unfortunately, the tickets are next to worthless in this arcade. We collected about 520 tickets with around 12 dollars in quarters with skeeball and basketball. We then had to feed these tickets into a machine to count them. We then got to the counter, and had barely enough for one king size butterfinger. I asked if they had anything else besides candy as a prize, and they said no. The ice cream parlor was decent. The sundae I had was delicious, and the array of flavors seemed to be up to par with what I've seen at other parlors. The service was was "good", in so that the whole place is staffed by teenagers who could care less if you have a good time. I didn't see one smile while I was there, and when I gave a friendly hello to an employee walking the minigolf course he ignored me. But really, how much can you expect from teenagers making minimum wage at a kids park in cloudy weather? I'd go again for the cheap skeeball and ice cream.

Working with this company was pleasant at first, they assured me I could have 1000 off my new car price since I graduated from college 2 years and 4 months ago. They said the cut off was actually at the 2 year mark, but that would not be a problem. On the day of the sale they pulled the rug out from under me and said they could not give me the 1000 off, and that it was my fault for not signing sooner since I didn't give them enough time to call in a favor. They were extremely unprofessional, and I got yelled at when I suggested they put oneof their promises in writing. Sam DePerri actually said to me "If IRA said they would do that then they were lying to you." As it turns out, Sam was lying to me and IRA ended up getting my service...and IRA was not lying. Caution with Grappone, they will string you along with lies and then pull the rug out from under you. Also, I was quoted at 750 to install cruise control on a vehicle, and they also said it would void my warranty. IRA is doing it for a fraction of the cost and I have it in writing that it will not void my warranty.

This antique store is booth-oriented with dozens of sellers. Even if the quality of some of the seller's products are hit and miss (they are of course not vetted by the owners, they simply rent out the booths), the sheer quantity ensures that there are plenty of gems to find in this treasure trove of items.

I feel like whenever I go there their price is consistently higher then their competitors. To counteract that it appears that they give me one quote that is cheaper, and then raise it unexpectedly and tell me it was a more difficult fix then they anticipated.
