Quick introduction on using and configuring pylint
Being somewhat new to Python, I figured I'd give pylint a try. In Perl we have perlcritic which serves a very similar function (although in Perl files are parsed in a DOM-like way because as some of us painfully know, the onl...

Fix numeric keypad in iTerm2 plus sharing how I use transparency and blur with iTerm2.
I'd had to fix this a couple of times now on various computers and figured I'd just post the answer in case I ever have to do it again. By default the numeric keypad sends function key codes. You can turn that off by selectin...

Developers: An OSX hack to speed up arrow key navigation as well as those times when you need to mash on the delete key :)
So I'm happy to be blogging again and I though I'd start by sharing a hack I ran across a couple of months ago.  It involves adjusting the OSX Key Repeat setting to a lower value that what the GUI allows.  This setting is gre...

Great to see you doing Python too nowadays! And speaking of pylint and programming languages in general, have you looked at Haskell? It's a neat statically typed (but with type inference) purely functional language conducive to quite compact code, and it compiles to C, so execution speed is near C. It has hlint too :).

Yeah, I've gotten a lot of heat for this post, especially from vi users.  I found the command burried in a giant OSX bash 'hacks' script and then I attempted to dumb it down because as I typed bash commands or other crap, I found I'd mash delete or whatever and it seemed a lot faster.  I then packaged it up as a blog post and subsequently got dumped on :)

+Vlad Svoka thanks for taking time to comment about the  Option plus arrow keys. (list of osx shortcuts http://www.danrodney.com/mac/)

I'm a linux/windows guy who plays at using a mac as I'm in a terminal window most of the time.  Also noticed you work for Capcom, that has to be a pretty cool gig :)  Cheers!

+Ohad Lutzky It doesn't.  This script simply turns on readline persistent history and tab completion support for the existing python shell.  So its just the default shell with readline support enabled.

One of my favorite restaurants. Try garlic chicken 4 stars and the ginger rice soup.
