Spicing it up @ Muziris Heritage
We are thrilled about UNESCO’s backing for the famed Spice Route project this week. It is a one-of-a-kind project connecting 31 countries to Muziris, the ancient world’s epicentre of Indian spice trade. Muziris port which has mentions in roman history, apparently flourished for two millennia before it mysteriously disappeared. Archaeologists rediscovered the port to a zone north of Kochi on the central Keralan coast tipping off the largest heritage conservation project in India – Muziris Heritage.

Check out the muziris heritage site here:

Centuries since, the world’s fascination with Indian spices still continues. Imagine how interesting it would be if could pick up on the pieces of history and recreate life at the days of the flourishing port? Its about creating a “new experience” of heritage travel on a route, once navigated by the spice traders more than a century before the Christian era. Amazing!

Of late,  I've been playing around with pinterest and it is slowly moving up the charts as my favorite social network. The place pins makes it even more cool.
This looks quite exciting, especially for people in the travel industry who use Pinterest (such as me!).

All in a day @ Thenmala Ecotourism
Step into nature’s playground at India’s first planned ecotourism destination – Thenmala. Around 70 km from Trivandrum, this place has something for everyone. If you are an adrenaline junkie walk a sway bridge, do river crossing or go mountain biking. Spend quality family time at the musical fountain, befriend a deer or visit the sculpture garden. Whatever you do don’t miss the elevated walkway. Come, have a whale of a time!

Edakkal Caves, Wayanad, Kerala
The surrealism of ancient carvings takes you to a different era altogether. Doesn’t it? One day you must trek up to the Edakkal Caves in Wayanad to check out this piece of antiquity. The place is under consideration for UNESCO world heritage site.

“Man with a jar cup” is the most distinct motif of the Indus Valley Civilization. What is it doing in the only known place of stone-age carvings in South India? Curious.
