Colors of Hraunfossar, #Iceland

Iceland is full of magnificent places...and I have to count Hraunfossar as one of them. When I first saw this place it reminded me of the now extinct Navajo Falls in Havasu Canyon. The entire hillside is bleeds the water creating hundreds of little falls that join a blue green river below. The site is just stunning under any conditions and the colors are breathtaking.

How was this image created?
This is a single exposure shot taken with a polarizer. I used a long lens to frame the shot so that it was full of colors. I used targeted adjustment on the highlights of the waterfalls to ensure that all flow lines and details were visible to the naked eye. To get this shot we went to this location during an overcast skies.

Enjoy & Share.
