The Big Question
I've share my testimony in blog posts , sermons, men's events and one-on-one counseling
sessions... it is time for something new. At the encouragement of my wife and much prayer, I started a new writing
project. "My Story of Freedom: Forgiveness and Letti...

She peered from her dingy apartment window, wiping the frost with the sleeve of her sweater so she could see more clearly. A light snow was falling making the city streets outside her old brownstone a clean carpet of white. Sally was eagerly awaiting a delivery from the local grocery store ...

What Life Does
Its funny what life does to a man’s heart, the twists and
turns of living on this planet places you in jeopardy by asking a simple
question. Why am I here? The answer—not simple at all—challenges me on a daily basis,
causing moments of deep panic because I ...
The answer—not simple at all—challenges me on a daily basis, causing moments of deep panic because I have no response and then intoxicating me with thrilling moments when I “get” the intent of the question. The question is an invitation. “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the ...

The bravest person I know entered my life Thirty-five years ago. March 16 started out as a snowy day, a winter mix that almost kept us from meeting, but the snow stopped and the sun melted what was left and I was on my way to Valhalla (New York that is, not the enormous hall of heroes located in ...

For the past two Sunday's at BBCC I've shared on “A Leap of Faith: Where Fear and Faith Collide”. The subject of faith is a lifelong study I believe…one that continues to become clearer as we walk closer to our Messiah. Here are some of the highlights: When we think of the word collide, ...

I do believe that hope is oxygen for our souls… it breathes life into the empty part of our souls. Hope makes you believe redemption is possible. I recently taught on hope (you can here it here, just look on the episodes menu for HOPE), but I am so aware how much I need to learn about abounding ...

It was just another cry from a newborn, his cries already muted by the sounds of animals sharing his birth place. He was one of the many little Hebrew lives entering the world that night, just one of the ones born in the cold to poor, struggling parents, on a journey not of their choosing.

Introduction

I was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York, just about 80 miles north of the Big Apple. My family and I live in Hyde Park, New York, the former home of Franklin Roosevelt, but I didn't let that stop us from living there. Seriously, it's a real nice town, rich with history. My wife Christine and I have been happily married for 30 years and have seven (yes seven) children, 5 boys and two girls. I am passionate about my relationships, with God and my family, they are the fuel for my creativity and the drive to finish strong.
