Twitter users are 33% more likely to be Democrats. New findings from Edison Research, released today.

I summarized this and 10 other particularly interesting stats from the new Social Habit report. And, you can download the entire research, too.

I wonder if they normalized for ages of users against the different political breakdowns of those age ranges if this would be a closer comparison.  Younger folks tend to be more likely Democrats.

Those results surprise me.  I am amazed at how many are on the religious right.

I dont know +David Sneen it seems like the web is crawling with liberals. Look at big media, the only conservative channel is fox news; cnn, msnbc, cbs, etc all are obama satellite stations.

Makes sense. Most tea baggers don't have a "kompooter"

I see a good bit of polarization in Twitter but that could be that it is hard to be in the middle in 140 chars.

I see a more Twitter users on the liberal side but that maybe because I follow more because they are more interesting :).

It would not surprise me that age is not factor, but I would like to know if age was taken into account.

+Jeremy Seifert, younger people are also much more likely to be Twitter users. The observation holds, of course. Great question!

What's really interesting is the social profile age demo: 55% of Americans 45-54 have a profile on a social networking site. After all, those are the people with the most money, which makes marketers happy ;)
