The Common Cold

More than 200 viruses can cause the common cold, and infections can spread from person to person through the air and close personal contact. Antibiotics do not work against these viruses and do not help you feel better if you have a cold. Rhinovirus is the most common type of virus that causes colds. Love Light Tree sparkled on December 7

This year, the Mercy Health System Association of Volunteers hosted its 30th Love Light Tree lighting December 7, in the Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center lobby.

Each light on the tree shined in remembrance, honor and/or gratitude for a loved one. A donation of $3 represents one light on the Love Light Tree.

The Association’s Love Light Tree fundraising goal of $18,000 will benefit important community projects like Lifeline, Meals On Wheels, Hospitality House, and Wigs for Patients.

There is still time to donate. To do so, send your donation to Love Light Tree, PO Box 2498, Janesville, WI 53547-2498.
