Like the city of San Francisco, Jasper’s Corner Tap & Kitchen is a social setting—a central gathering place.  It's a place for people to meet up and unwind over good food, beer, wine, and cocktails.  Located just blocks from Union Square, and with a close proximity to both the Theater district and the vibrant and up and coming Tenderloin, Jasper’s Corner Tap & Kitchen is a great setting for the menu of upscale tavern inspired fare and extensive beer selection.Jasper's Corner Tap and Kitchen

Great for groups! They have a back room for bigger groups. This is a true gastropub. It has hundreds of beer on tap. They also have a full bar and fine wine available. The food is classic American bites. Soft pretzels, fries, mac and cheese, etc. Centrally located close to Union Square but it is not touristy. Many locals go here but it is fairly new so not a lot of people know about it.

Hello Phuong Trieu, Your stellar 5 star review has made our day and added a bounce to our step, thank you! We aim to impress with our beer selection, available wines, and delicious food; knowing that we reached our goal for you is why we love our job! We hope to welcome you back soon for another great meal.

My experience at Jasper's was cut short by a (unrelated) trip to the emergency room, but I had a really good experience up until then. The servers were nice, the food was good, and the beer was strong. The pork belly grilled cheese with avocado was outrageous, not to be missed!
Response from the owner - 4 months ago
Hello Samantha Berg, Oh no! A trip to the emergency room is never the way you want your evening to end! We hope that it was as quick as possible, and that you're doing great now. Good service, tasty food and strong beer; what more could a person want, except maybe to steer clear of emergency rooms! We can't wait to welcome you back; we'll have a pork belly grilled cheese with avocado waiting with your name on it.

I pass this restaurant every day and had been wanting to check it out all year. I finally went in for a late night dinner; the menu looked delicious but what we actually ordered food was just ok and pricey. $25 for fish and chips! wow...the drinks were good so I would go back for they're happy hour but not for dinner.
Response from the owner - 4 months ago
Hello Imani Mapp, We're thrilled that you decided to come by and check us out! We'll take all your comments into careful consideration, including your thoughts on our pricing. We can't wait to welcome you back for some yummy drinks. I get the fact that this place is in a touristy and business travel friendly part of town but the prices are obscene. For what you get it is borderline obnoxious. I get the fact that they are not catering to my demographic but that of the business jetsetter with a penchant for good whiskey and a TGI McFunsters kind of vibe. Some coworkers and I came here before a show at GAMH and while some of the food was good, I don't think I will be back. The crispy piggy and the salmon tartare were pretty good but the soft pretzel, the riblettes and the chicken just seemed over seasoned and half-assed. They pride themselves on being a corner tap and whiskey bar and while they have a great selection of whiskeys and other liquors this place is just kind of boring.

Like most things downtown, I thought it was a bit pricy, but food was pretty decent. The atmosphere is pretty cool and chill. All the servers and staff were super friendly and the service was quick. I might go back for a drink or two, but I probably wouldn't have an entire meal there again.

Hello Alicia Nysse, We love our vibe, but it's guests like you that give us our flair. It's fantastic to hear that our restaurant team were friendly and offered you speedy service. We'll take your thoughts regarding our pricing into careful consideration. We want guests to leave with a smile on their faces, not empty pockets. We can't wait to see you again soon for another chill meal or drinks.

A delicious burger, amazing fries, and wash it all down with a Shirley Temple made with homemade grenadine. I licked my plate clean and wasn't at all ashamed.

Hello Luke Dary, Your giving us a big head; we LOVE it! Delicious food and amazing drinks does sound like a plate-licking good time! We'll happily pass your praise along to our chef; we know you'll make her day! The only thing we love more than a 5 star review is welcoming familiar faces; we hope to see you again soon!

Jasper's is a good bar with quality small bites, a great beer selection and good service. The Mac and cheese is excellent as are the burgers and salads. They have some excellent beer selections by the bottle and on tap. The cucumber salad is also excellent. The service is friendly and good and pricing is decent. Location is in the Tenderloin but it's not far from Union Square.

Carl, Thank you for the great review! We’re thrilled you our tasty food and drink selection. It’s great to hear that our restaurant team took great care of you, and we hope to see you again soon.

This is such a cool spot! I learned about Jasper's through the Avital Tours Union Square Cocktail Tour. They have some amazing and unique mixed drinks ON TAP! They can also serve their drinks by the bottle which makes accommodating a large group much more efficient. Their food is also tasty, from pickled veggies to deviled eggs and french fries. A great stop after work or when you're looking for a quick bite to eat and a good drink.

Could you become anti-Yelp? There may a way to get even better food recommendations, from chefs themselves!

SF-Based Startup Chefs Feed Hopes To Be The Anti-Yelp: About three and a half years ago, local restaurant publicists and brothers Jared and Steve Rivera decided to launch an app that collected the food recommendations of chefs — the idea being that who better to ask where to eat in any given city than the chefs who live and eat there. Keep your eye out for the stars this week! See who's in town, right here in San Francisco!

Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and Michael Fassbender Are All in SF: There have been large lights and other signs of filming outside of Davies Symphony Hall on Van Ness for a few days now and Lauren Machado from the city's Film Commission confirmed to Hoodline that they are there for the Steve Jobs biopic. You may have heard about the Aaron Sorkin penned movie through its casting call earlier this year. It will star Michael Fassbender as Jobs, Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniack, and Kate Winslet as Joanna Hoffman. Machado also confirmed to us that all three of these actors are in town for filming. I think they're shooting the Steve Jobs movie at the SF Opera House -- I see a NeXT poster inside the door. pic.twitter.com/5PxXvD6Pv7— Andy Reitz (@areitz) February 24, 2015 The movie's filming will continue in SF until April and should make itself known considering the actors will all be dressed and styled to look '80s appropriate. When I asked Machado what the big honking lights outside the Opera House are for, she explained that those are to amplify the “sunlight” shining into the building for the interior shots. She also said that they’re not currently filming exterior scenes of the building, but they will be at a later date. In other words, keep an eye out for faces you recognize in the next month or so.  [H/t: Hoodline, Photo: Jon Snyder/Wired.com] http://dlvr.it/8lfvBf

There's nothing not to love about this year's Indie Music Fest! Will u be there?

Awesome Indie Music Fest Returns to Sonomoa for Its Best Year Yet: There's a time and a place for giant meat market music festivals, but I love a mellower summer weekend bender, one with just two or three stages packed with excellent bands. Because of that, Sonoma's annual Huichica festival has become a yearly journey for me and many of my indie, psych, and folk-pop loving friends from the city. Huichica isn't some corporate deal by a winemaker trying to make a buck. It was started six years ago by a vintner at California's oldest family-run winery and one of his favorite musicians, Eric D. Johnson of the Fruit Bats. Together they've cultivated a gathering on the scenic hills and outdoor amphitheater of the Gundlach Bundschu Winery that collects great national acts, top notch West Coast food trucks, and tasty wine you can buy and drink by the bottle on their lawn. Since 2013, Britt Govea of FolkYeah has helped amp up the bookings (those of you who hit his amazing shows in Big Sur at the Henry Miller Library know what I'm talking about). The lineup for Huichica 2015 (June 12-13) has just been announced and it looks awesome once again.  Allah-Las Atlas Sound Amen Dunes Jessica Pratt Shannon & The Clams Sonny & the Sunsets Gap Dream Fresh & Only's EDJ Pure Bathing Culture The Tyde GospelbeacH The Donkeys Trummors William Tyler Ryley Walker Kacey Johansing Mariee Sioux One thing to note for 2015: there will be three stages this year, upped from the previous two. Shows will happen at the Hillside Amphitheater, the Cave Stage, and inside the gorgeous Redwood Barn.  Huichica will take place Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, at Gundlach Bundschu Winery in Sonoma. Tickets are $40-$55/day for GA and up to $120 for two-day VIP passes. Pro tip: Book an Airbnb nearby so you don't have to drive all the way to the city. Local hotels can be spendy so room and home rental sites are the way to go.  And if you dig the festival setting here, Gunlach Bunschu hosts one-off shows with a number of great indie acts, including Father John Misty, Jenny Lewis, and others. In April they'll have a show with Panda Bear, and Real Estate and Woods will perform there in May. Check out their concert calendar here.  All photos courtesy of Gundlach Bundschu http://dlvr.it/8lQQCH

Hard to beat 92 miles an hour!!

"Lincecum said he was pleased with his fastball command, and he went to the pitch often. It registered mostly at 89 mph on radar guns in the scouts section, with Lincecum topping out at 92. "
Tim Lincecum gave up one run in one inning in the Giants' Cactus League opener on Tuesday, but he was happy with the way he pitched.
