Coder just got an update to v0.7 and it now supports the Raspberry Pi B+. I'm really stoked about the new power circuitry–you can now plug and unplug wireless adapters without everything rebooting!

If you've got the new board and want to program your Pi with Javascript, download the latest Coder SD Card image from http://goo.gl/coder

+John Weland If you already know Javascript, then why not use Javascript on the backend. People already losing interest on PHP because NodeJS has so much more potential. And SQL databases are also becoming less and less populair. I think u can use Javascript based DB's like MongoDB or many other flavours.

Just pushed a new version of Coder (v0.6) which will now let you access even more fun hardware stuff from your web apps. I've been using it to pull analog sensor data from the MCP3008 analog to digital converter.

This update:
- adds built-in support for the pi-spi and i2c modules!
- fixes a project uploading bug for windows users
- ability to set a headless static ip by editing a file on the sdcard
- if you're upgrading from 0.4, this also gives you gpio support

You can download the v0.6 image here: http://googlecreativelab.github.io/coder/#download

I have some test code for reading SPI analog input data from the MCP3008 over here:

Cool, I was planning on hacking around with the software method.  Will let you know if that pans out, and if not take a peek at this hardware from adafruit.  Thanks!

This cross-platform Web Starter Kit project looks really well executed.

Web Fundamentals and Web Starter Kit: Resources for Modern Web Development

The web is a rich computing platform with unparalleled reach. In recent years, mobile devices have brought the web to billions of new users and introduced many new device capabilities, screen sizes, input methods, and more. To help developers navigate this brave new world, we built Web Fundamentals (https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/), a curated source for modern best practices. Today, we’re making it even easier to build multi-device experiences with the Beta release of the Web Starter Kit (https://developers.google.com/web/starter-kit/).

If you're at the Cannes Lions ad festival, check out the Google juice bar on the beach. You can order a drink by writing HTML in Coder. :)

Here's a long-awaited update to Coder that will let you read analog sensors, right from your web app!

Anyone else remember when there were amazing local ISPs and you got great service, and sometimes they'd throw parties and your favorite local hackers and indie artists were all there and you got to meet your irc friends in person and everyone hung out and stuff?

I'm pretty sure this will be just like that and a whole lot more!
