I used to be a paper-scorebook kind of guy. But this year I became the scorekeeper for my daughter's softball team, and started using the iPhone app iScore. The rest is history. I highly recommend the app to anyone involved in competitive baseball or softball.

Once I got the hang of it, I felt comfortable working through the complex situations. Last year I was right where you are -- but this year I feel like it's come together enough that I'm not going to go back to paper.

There is a way to edit events after the fact, but I hear you--it's more of a pain than it should be.
