To be fair, I always heard Philip Michaels on the Incomparable as wearing a monocle.

I wrote this article (now available free!) about falling in love online, which is a thing I did before most people--back in 1987. It's also sort of, kind of, trying to make sense of the Manti Te'o "fake girlfriend" story. Check it out. And while you're at it, please consider signing up for the Kickstarter campaign of The Magazine and get a book with a piece by me in it!

I'm shocked, shocked that PR is going on in this establishment!

On the latest episode of This Week in Tech: Leo Laporte, John C. Dvorak, Casey Newton, and Jason Snell talk about how Apple manages the press by maintaining a supposed "blacklist."

This week's Incomparable comes from 1952.

Old Movie Club returns! This week we're talking about three movies from 1952. There's "Singin' in the Rain," an undisputed musical classic that wasn't even nominated for Best Picture. "High Noon," a classic that was nominated but didn't win. And then there's Best Picture winner "The Greatest Show on Earth," which is also a movie.

Our old-movie sommelier is +Philip Michaels, our host is +Jason Snell, and guests are +Monty Ashley +Erika Ensign +Lisa Schmeiser David J. Loehr and Steve Lutz.

I interviewed the director of "JOBS", the movie about Steve Jobs. Interesting guy with an interesting take.

Please listen!

We did another radio drama! 84 minutes of old-time radio type silliness. Loving homages to Doctor Who, the Twilight Zone, Harry Lime, Indiana Jones (or is it Rocky and Bullwinkle?) and The Shadow. And more.

Come meet up on Tuesday night in San Francisco!

If you want to meet up on December 10th between 5.30 and 8 pm with me, +Jason Snell and some other interesting folks who contribute to +The Magazine: for curious people with a technical bent , have been a guest on +The New Disruptors or talk nonsense on +The Incomparable Podcast , AND you live in or around San Francisco, we're having a totally casual, no-host, non-reserved gathering at the bar of the W Hotel near Moscone. You can RSVP (so we can inform you if the venue or other details changes) or show up. We figured the W is big enough to absorb a small crowd.

Fun Clockwise podcast this week. In which we declare the end of everything.

Times change! Are we headed for a world where you replace your laptop with a tablet, all office software is free, and gaming consoles are utterly irrelevant? (Also, is there a Secret League of Dans?) Join us for some spirited conversation in this week's Clockwise Podcast. Featuring +Dan Moren +Jason Snell +Armando Rodriguez and Dan Miller!

A fun fall TV episode this week.

Pick up the clicker and join us for our conversation about the new TV season. We talk ABC's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", "Sleepy Hollow," "The Blacklist," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "The Crazy Ones," "The Michael J. Fox Show," "Masters of Sex," and also NBC's "Dracula"--which we haven't actually seen. Plus returning shows of note like "Parks and Recreation," "Bob's Burgers," "How I Met Your Mother," and "The Big Bang Theory." We also talk about how exciting corporate synergy can be, Scott endorses a show you should watch if you have the channel it's on, and we provide our pitch for "CSI: Dracula."

This week's podcast is about separating the art from the artist.

Awful people can make great art. Nice people can write bad books. Can you separate the creator from the art? We struggle with Orson Scott Card and his (rightfully) classic novel "Ender's Game" and go on to list other writers and series who we've had to break up with. To make things not entirely disappointing, we also talk about authors and series that have never let us down.

This week's episode is hosted by +Jason Snell with guests +Lisa Schmeiser +Scott McNulty David Loehr and +Dan Moren.
