What I learned from my trip to Stark Vegas covering the biggest football game in Mississippi State history last weekend: http://valleywx.com/2014/10/16/a-hat-tip-to-the-sports-guys/
Greg Screws always says "sports is a young man's game." Now I know why. I've got to tip my hat to the work our sports guys do. Ryan Cody and Chase Horn work their rear-ends off all the time, but it...

"This handsome male monarch butterfly showed up on this cool fall morning. It was nice short visit. Perhaps he's migrating to greener (warmer) pastures? I'm not exactly sure how that works.

never mind, not important.  by the way if ya'll ever make it to France, bring your own cube of butter.  The boulangerie doesn't provide butter with your baguettes, and look look for Starbucks cause the expresso cafe they sell there will not fill ya,ll  American voluminous stomachs. Don't try to sneek it in the Louvre with you to see the Mona Lisa.  The French people are quite proper and traditional.  Don't even mention them eating horse, you'll get deported pronto!!!!

October has been a frog-happy month.  Most of us have had more than 200% of normal rainfall in the past 10 days; the next 7-10...they look a lot more like October instead of this warm, humid, rainy mess: www.whnt.com/weather/forecast/

Strong storms ongoing and still possible through the evening; see www.valleywx.com for the latest info.  Most of the storms will produce small hail and wind gusts over 40 MPH.

WHNT News 19 Chief Meteorologist
Introduction
I'm the Chief Meteorologist at WHNT News 19 in Huntsville, Alabama, and a huge Mississippi State fan.  I've got Facebook and Twitter accounts as well; follow me across the board!  I post a lot of weather information for the Tennessee Valley, but it's not going to be all weather, all the time.
Bragging rights
I outkicked my coverage when I married my wife Lacey in 2010. Our first child, Walt, was born in October 2011, and our little Sweet Surprise Shelby came to us in July 2013. I've got a beautiful family, and they mean more to me than anything else in the world!
