Just wanted you to know my band +Japan Soul
's album "Plastic Utopia" will be released April 29. It's a project I worked on for 2+ years with bandmates +David Rozner
and +DaVe Lipp
. A lot of songwriting, a lot of production and a whole lot of growth – musical and otherwise. I hope you'll give it a chance. We gave it our all to make the best music we possibly can. The cover features an amazing painting by my wife and creative partner +Eva Orzech
. Right now the album is available for pre-order on BandCamp. You can stream 4 of the 10 tracks right now from the link. If you pre-order now you'll get the rest of the tracks delivered to your inbox on 4/29. http://japansoul.bandcamp.com/album/plastic-utopia
I know we're entering a phase of beautiful streaming. It becomes less of a consumer need to purchase music. But the reality is that there's very little money in music for mid-level (and lower level) artists because of streaming (and piracy of old). Music becomes less viable as a career pursuit if there's no hope of a return, even if something gets popular. I'm soft-launching the campaign #BuyMusicLoveArtists
with my design studio, Trasaterra. You'll see the BMLA logo on the bottom right-hand corner of the album cover. It is exactly what it sounds like. Beyond my own music pursuits the idea of BMLA is to encourage fans to continue to buy the music they love because recording artists really need you too. There will be more info on BMLA when we launch officially over the next few months.
So to get back on topic, I hope you'll listen to "Plastic Utopia" and I'll post again when the album is released in full on 4/29 in case you missed this post!
Thanks for listening!
