I'm back from 2 wonderful weeks in the ‪#‎PNW‬. I visited many new places and revisited some favorites. The first image I'm sharing is from ‪#‎ThorsWell‬ on the ‪#‎Oregon‬ coast.

I've been there once before but it wasn't the right conditions for shooting. This time wasn't much better so I decided to visit at night. Despite extensive searches online I couldn't find any night images taken there. It was extremely dangerous to shoot at night, especially with the rain mist allowing me to see 100ft at best (usually much less though). I visited at high tide with some stormy weather and watched the waves for 20 minutes before deciding to wait another 30 minutes. It was still a little much and I definitely had to keep my eyes opened for rouge waves. In the end though I survived and came away with what I think is a unique and compelling image. The light from a nearby fishing ship is what really made it work in the conditions.

Please tell me I'm not the only one stupid enough to shoot there at night though, share an image or experience if you have one!

On our second night in #Iceland we were rewarded with another incredible show of #aurora while on the road near Höfn.  After looking at the forecast we decided to try our luck at Vestrahorn.  When we arrived the sky was completely cloudy over the mountain and the clear areas we could see didn't have any aurora.  After an hour or so of waiting the clouds cleared and the light show kicked off again; we were beyond thrilled with our luck!  Soon the sun started to rise and the lights faded, but we had another amazing night in books.

"Formless"
Looking up at the northern lights with out land for context  leaves one's mind free to wander the shapes and possibilities of an every changing canvas.

I'll be including a post soon with the information David Kingham Photography and I used to chase the northern lights in Iceland.  Needless to say predicting the weather in Iceland as well as the aurora is very difficult but some tools can help.  #NorthernLights #Icelandair

Another amazing night of #aurora in Iceland! This is a quick grab of the display we had last night. After waiting over an hour for the clouds to clear above the mountain we almost moved on, but we waited and were rewarded with another mind blowing show. Can't wait to process the images!

+Jeff O'Reilly It's a beautiful place to visit but a little too harsh for me to want to live there full-time.  Now Oregon though...

Here are some quick iPhone shots of my display at Dead Horse Point State Park near #Moab. I was really impressed with the amount of people at the visitor center when I was seeing up. It was snowy and nasty out yet folks kept coming and stopping in the gallery while I was setting up. I especially enjoy hearing viewers talk about the locations in the images; memories of past visits, recent experiences, or forming plans to go to a location.

I posted this to my personal page but thought I would ask here too.  After smashing my Marumi Circular Polarizer in Zion National Park I'm in need of a new one.

I'm considering another Marumi http://www.amazon.com/Marumi-Super-Circular-Polarizer-Filter/dp/B003QSG0HK
or B+W XS-Pro http://www.amazon.com/Kaesemann-Circular-Polarizer-Multi-Resistant-Coating/dp/B004861IX0

My first workshop this year will be in Grand Teton National Park with +Bret Edge Photography. Join us June 18 - 21 for a ‪#‎photographyworkshop‬ in one of my favorite places! I'll be following up soon with the rest of my 2015 workshop schedule so stay tuned.

"Rising over 7,000' from the surrounding sagebrush flats, with no foothills to interrupt the dramatic elevation gain, the Tetons are one of America's most photogenic mountain ranges. Crystal clear lakes fed by rushing streams dot the landscape, often capturing reflections of the jagged peaks that tower overhead. Bison roam freely among scenic pioneer barns while other wildlife, including elk and grizzly bears, are frequently spotted moving about in the park. This is an opportunity to join Bret and Jason for three full days of photography, camaraderie and fun in a mountain landscape like no other!"

This misty sunrise image comes from Schwabacher Landing, one of the locations we might visit during the workshop.

Only 5 spots left for my workshop in Grand Teton National Park with Bret Edge Photography!  Towering mountains, lakes as clear as glass, abundant wildlife tickling opportunities*, what more could you ask for!?

Check out the link for more info and throw your questions in the comments. http://www.moabphotoworkshops.com/groupworkshops/summer-in-the-tetons-photography-workshop

*There won't actually be any wildlife tickling, unless the bears don't like you, then you get a special bear tickling ;).

"Lady in White"
Beauty can be found in all that surrounds us, but most stands out when surrounded by more beauty in kind.

This is the "finished" result of the image I shared last week.  With an image that evokes such emotion from my experience capturing it, I don't know if I can ever say it's truly finished.  If this image connects with you in any way please share it with others, it's rare I'm given the opportunity to really represent my experiences in nature.

While I have many more aurora shots to work on I thought I would share this stunner from my Iceland trip.  As soon as I captured this shot I knew it was a keeper.  The best thing about the glacial lagoon beach is it changes every time you visit, even hours apart, giving new opportunities for images.

"Night Wonders over Delicate Arch"
While most experience ‪#‎Arches‬ National Park in the day, I find the best time to enjoy its wonders is at night. The light of stars unfathomable distances away hitting a landscape of whose formation is just as enchanting.

Do you have plans to be in #Moab this March or April?  If so make sure to stop by the visitor's center at Dead Horse Point State Park.  The park is featuring a display of my images from around the Colorado Plateau.  All artwork is for sale with the majority displayed on lightweight and vibrant metal prints; 30% of the proceeds go to helping Utah state parks.

I'll be setting up tomorrow before braving the snowstorm on the way back to Denver.  Now it's time to head to Arches for a trail run!

Great, speedy service. I needed new coverage quickly and was taken care of, but the best part is the prices are more than competitive! Follow-up was stellar and I look forward to years of being a client of APA.

My wife and I went to the range for the first time yesterday and it was great. I was really impressed with the clean and modern facilities. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable; not the typical snubbing and ignoring I get at most gun shops because I look 17 instead of 27.

Excellent staff and patient care. I called for a same day appointment and I was able to get in. Dr. Bryan and his staff took their time to give me a thorough exam and explain everything they were doing. The office was spacious and comfortable.

Worst sales service I've received at a dealership. We couldn't agree upon a price for a vehicle so I walked away from the deal. The Internet manager Dave called me back the next day to tell me in rude and no uncertain terms what he thought of me for not accepting the price they wanted. He then hung up on me. I will never consider doing business with them again or recommend them to anyone else.

Great dealership experience! The whole sales staff was was very professional and non-pressure. Scott answered all our questions and allowed my wife and I the time we needed to make our decision. We got a great deal on the vehicle we purchased, much less than the competition. After purchasing we noticed a problem with the brakes but we were promptly taken care of by Scott and their great service staff. After visiting many dealers while trying to find the right SUV for us it was nice to have a great experience that makes me want to go back again.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to browse all the handguns without being bugged and then was promptly helped when I had questions. They had a large selection with all the guns I wanted to view. This was my first handgun purchase and they helped me in choosing a Glock 23 Gen 4 that I'm very happy with. Their price was the exact same as everywhere else locally and online which made it a no brainier to buy it there.
