Disclaimer:  I rarely post about politics, and only slightly more frequently post about religion.  I imagine most people who have me in circles do so for gaming topics.  This is the first post in a new Politics & Religion Collection of mine--if you don't care to hear from me about these things, please un-follow (de-follow? ex-subscribe?) this Collection, and I'll continue to post geekish and gamery things to Circles.

I subscribe to America online.  Wait, that came out wrong.

I subscribe to the online content of the magazine "America."  It's a magazine that focuses on articles about Catholic issues for U.S. Catholics.  I subscribe because I've been (pleasantly) surprised often enough on how progressive the points of view are, and while I'm terrible about entering into discussions about these subjects with other Catholics, I still like to know what people are thinking.

Today, they sent me another email, highlighting some articles.  I found quite a bit that I wanted to read, and think about.

I believe this decision is good news for the church.  The more the world progresses towards equality, the more the parts that haven't need to work to justify their position, else come to the realization that they are in the wrong.  While the U.S Supreme Court's decision won't be forcing Catholic churches to change their teachings or how they administer Sacramental Marriage, it should make us question why we don't.
There is contention on whether or this is good news or bad news for the church.

Ah, the first Peppermint Mocha Frappucino of the season. These things seriously rock. I know I can get them all year round, but it's so much better this way.

Today's #walktowork features The Doubleclicks album, Lasers and Feelings.

Yeah, I know. Going from Ke$ha to the Doubleclicks seems odd, unless you know me.

The genre of Geek Comedy music holds a special place in my data, but somehow I hadn't listen to them before. I made it through the whole album during my commute, and I have to say I've been missing a lot of fun--particularly in the title song, and the finale, Oh Mr. Darcy.

I'm not positive I can listen to them over and over again--I'm ready to take a break from the voices, for instance. But I'll definitely be back for more.

Avoid Chili's tomorrow, and promote health nationwide.

Oh, FFS. Can we all please agree not to eat at Chili's on this day?
Chili's intends to donate 10% of its customers' checks on April 7th to the National Autism Association, in honor of National Autism Awareness month. The problem? The NAA claims on its website that vaccines can trigger or exacerbate autism in "some, if not many, children." Dammit not this again.

Maybe it's because I've been around +Rochelle Lynn McNaughton a lot, but I know all of these songs.

I'm not sure I knew what to expect from Daft Punk. I certainly wasn't ready for a mellow/disco/synth album, but that made for a nice morning surprise. I'll have to listen to more...

Yeah, because laws that have been around a long time are probably bad ones.

Yeah, I bought music. But in my defense, it's music I could have put together myself in a play list, since I have Google Play All Access.

Wait. I mean, in my defense, comic book movie!

+Larry Eberlin, check out what plays at these modern - type movies.

So, I really like Ke$ha. Recently I haven't been listening to much else. And, given my lack of singles for the bus this morning, I decided to share with another #walktowork.

I am not typing anything into Google Play search, but it automatically fills the search with "unicorns" when I hit enter.

I watched this movie so many times, as a kid. Good to see it available on Google Play. Anyone else remember Jake?
