The spring thaw has started here in British Columbia, on Canada's west coast. The many rivers and streams will soon be gushing with melt water as it leaves the mountain slopes and makes its way to the nearby Pacific Ocean. The snowfall wasn't very heavy this winter here on the west coast, however the streams will still be giving impressive displays of the power of water. This is the Cheekye River north of the community of Squamish and south of the mountain resort of Whistler.

Interesting story behind this iconic photo.

We sit down with the man who snapped one of the most iconic photos of the century. And it turns out that the story behind 'Bliss' is a love story. http://cnet.co/1ogeNVV http://cnet.co/1ogeNVV

Story
Tagline
Originally from Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada and a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a degree in Human Geography. I am interested in the way that we "see" the landscape around us. I acknowledge that my photographs, and photography in general cannot capture truth, but only represents reality as viewed by my eyes and subjectivity.

Awesome beer brewed right on site and great food. Best chicken burger I've ever had.

Got a good deal on a room here from Priceline. One of the cheapest places you can stay close to downtown. Nothing fancy but if you want to stay close to downtown and not break the bank, not a bad choice. Can be a little noisy being so close to the freeway so earplugs are recommended.

Came for happy hour. Beer was good. The only thing we ate was the chips and salsa, but the quality was amazing. Freshly made chips as well as the salsa.
