Endeavour was always my favorite.
Endeavor en route to the California Science Center. They have to "lift" the power lines in some spots and limbo under them at 2 mph! Some parts of the route only have six inches of clearance — just incredible.

Watched a video of Wes Pentz the other day and got a bit depressed. Pentz is better known as Diplo, the world travelling DJ, producer, and as many say, style maker. One half of Major Lazer, he works with the top names in the EDM community. Owns his own label, Mad Decent, with artists such as Rusko and more.

In the video he says he does it all for the passion then states that he and his crew are still broke, but they love what they do.

Then I listened to the radio for a bit in the car and got ill. What kind of ass backwards world do we live in?

There are some mainstream things I like, I will not lie. But the indie, underground, and niche music is where it is at for me. People making tunes because that is their calling. Doing things they want to do and have passion for instead of performing for a paycheck. No big money screwing with and changing their artistic vision to make another million on their backs.

And for all this passion they are almost completely ignored. It is hard making a living at what you love when you are ignored.

That is why I do the Indie Music Blast and have done it since 2005. Wake up people. There is a whole world of awesome out there and it will not come to you from your local DJ working for Clear Channel.

Of course as I post this, Dreamhost has all my sites down for maintenance, but they will be back up. Embrace the indies.

"There is no question that if the world had to be divided into the 'poetic dreamers' and the 'rational thinkers' most people would place mathematicians in the latter category. Nevertheless, the fact is that there is nothing as dreamy and poetic, nothing as radical, subversive, and psychedelic, as mathematics."

A Mathematician's Lament, by Paul Lockhart
