So, I had the shock/thrill of a lifetime the other day. Ok well...maybe not lifetime, but certainly the week at the very least. I have the Google+ mobile app on my droid phone. One afternoon I get a notification that I have a Google+ notification.
So far that's not out of the ordinary, in so much as I know a total of 6 people who are on Google+ and only really know 3 of them. The other 3 are celebrities that I follow on twitter and have enjoyed the show(s) they'e worked on (+Wil Wheaton
, +Felicia Day
, +Robert Llewellyn
So, to continue, I tap-tap-tap on my phone to see what the notification is all about. I am expecting that there is a post about ComiCon or some other nerdly item waiting for me. I look at the notification and just stared at it for, seriously, about 10 minutes. It said:+Robert Llewellyn
has added you to a Circle
I was shocked. One of the Celebs that I was following added me to a circle. He wouldn't know me if he ran me over during one of his "Car Pool" segments.
When my brain finally re-engaged, the first though that crossed my mind was
"Well, spin my nipple-nuts and send me to Alaska"
The next one was: "How awesome is this!"
Now, I understand that, in the Beta stage of G+, finding people and adding them to circles is like "hitting another random living person in a Dystopian, zombie-decimated city with a bowling ball while blind-folded"
(meaning, any connection, even with a random stranger from across the pond is welcome)
Even still, Kryten added me to a Circle. The thought still makes me giddy.
So, to +Robert Llewellyn
, Thank you for adding me. I am a big fan. And I still will be even after you read one of my inane posts and decide to de-circle, or un-circle, or circle-with-a-line-through-it, me. But, until then, Cheers!
