I (very) recently started to actively work hard on improving my eating habits. I eat fairly well, however, I can definitely improve. I'm looking at you tasty coffee creamers!

In any case, as I did my research of how to create a balanced diet for myself, I learned just how many calories reside in our daily foods - even at restaurants that are supposed to be a healthier option.

This article does a fantastic job of highlighting some of those 2000 calorie meals, as well as demonstrating how much healthier home cooked meals can be. In fact, after I put together a meal plan for myself, I was very surprised at just how much food you have to eat to reach 2000 calories! I can barely eat it all in one day!

And the truth is that, we don't need to eat them all, all 2000 calories. I'm working on trying to eat only when my body says I need food. So, nothing is off the table in terms of what I can and can't have. I can eat whatever, I just don't need to eat a lot of it. When I'm satisfied, not full, but satisfied, I can stop.

Good luck with your new eating habits. Keep us posted :)

Introduction
Google+ wanted to be to add a little introduction about myself. So, if you follow my stream, here is the type of information you will typically see posted (to my Public stream):
  • Technology - I can't get enough of this stuff. Software is my main passion, but I also am interested in various research topics.
  • Politics - I want to remain informed about the activities of my nation and will share my opinions and thoughts on the topics that interest me.
  • Gaming - This is how I relax, and I love sharing information about it.
  • Photography - I am not a photographer myself, but I love photography as an art and will sometimes share my favorites.
  • Cats - It's the internet! You can't go anywhere without a good cat post.
So, if any of those topics interest you (come on...cats!), then add me to your circles and join in the fun!
