Fantastic video, Simon. I love the idea of pushing your equipment to the max. Kendy is an incredible DP and makes the t2i do things I could never imagine. I believe he also mainly uses a single Sigma 30mm lens for most of his work. Thanks for sharing, always appreciate a gold reminder that less is more.

As a long term user of both applications, I don't think it will be as easy of a switch, simply due to hardware. For whatever reason, resolve requires a ridiculous amount of computing power (mainly GPU but also cpu) to do things similar that premiere can do in a snap. I don't disagree that resolve is far more powerful for color, but I still frequently use premiere as a home base or finishing app due to some issues in Resolve. I hope these are improved in v12 but I still have a feeling premiere will have some very useful features and can run on far less of a computer. Looking forward to your thoughts as both come out.

+Jason Bowdach agreed Jason. There are are some major differences in performance and hardware you'll run into. Unless v12 changes things -- to get performance similar to PP's with native media, you'll have to transcode first for most formats. On the other hand, being that's it's amazingly free, I could see a lot of ppl putting up with whatever tradeoffs there are and making it work for them, which overall, it's already a remarkably capable lil' editor.

Max render quality is only needed if you're changing the resolution when exporting. Otherwise, its just wasting encoding time. Max bit depth DOES help, especially if doing a lot of color correction

The tool tip on MRQ just says 'when scaling', but when you come across this topic on Adobe forums you'll hear some back and forth on what it actually does and affects, things beyond just scales up/down. I wish I had a more definitive answer, but unless I am in a rush I just pop in on, personally.

Very cool but enough w the teasers. you've been saying you'd show your post workflow forever but all I ever see is more teasers to new products now. Being totally honest as a long time Neumann films fan and customer, I see you even charge for all your older videos now, which is a huge shift in the mentality I thought you created for Neumann films. Everything is either attached to product you sell or is a teaser that doesn't follow through. My apologies for the negativity but I felt it was important to voice my opinion, as a long term watcher and custom of your tools.

Ultimately it takes a really boring day with nothing going on for me to do a tutorial that's not based on something narrative.  If it's based on something narrative I get excited about sharing it.  If it's not it feels like it's click bait (which...obviously the last two videos on here were).

Tough to take the channel in a different direction and we aren't quite there yet.  It would be much easier if real life never got in the way :)
