Mygalomorph

A mygalomorph is a horrifying hybrid of huge spider and humanoid. The humanoid form is contorted with four legs and four arms growing from a unholy amalgamation of a spider's cephalothorax and abdomen with a humanoid torso and cranium.

Frequency: Very rare
No. Appearing: 1-10
Armor Class: 6
Move: 15"
Hit Dice: 3+3
% in Lair: 50%
Treasure Type: I-M, Q
No. of Attacks: 3
Damage/Attack: 1-6/by weapon type (x2)
Special Attacks: See below
Special Defense: See below
Magic Resistance: 55%
Intelligence: Low
Alignment: Chaotic evil
Size: M
Psionic Ability: Nil
Attack/Defense Modes: Nil/Nil
Level/XP Value: IV/240 + 4/hp

Stealthy and quick, a mygalomorph can leap 3" upon prey and attack with a deadly bite (save versus poison with a +1 on the dice or be killed) and two weapons. It often rushes forth from a hidden place of concealment, much like a trapdoor spider, surprising creatures on a roll of 1-5 (out of 6).

Accustomed to life deep underground, a mygalomorph has superior infravision (12" range) and keen senses (surprised 1 in 8 times). Within the radius of a light or continual light spell, a mygalomorph surprises others only 1-2 (out of 6) times, and the bright illumination causes it to suffer a -1 penalty on "to hit" rolls.

Mygalomorphs speak the subterranean trade tongue common to most intelligent dwellers in the underworld as well as the language of elves and giant spiders.
