Do you miss thumbing through magazines rather than scrolling on your phone or laptop? Well Hackaday is printing its first publication. The Hackaday Omnibus 2014.

80 full-color pages of long-form original content that is part graphic novel, part hacker history, and part inspiration for your own projects. No ads, just great content.

Hackaday Omnibus 2014: Now available to Pre-Order!

We're proud of what the Hackaday crew accomplished last year. From stories of old and new to articles that encouraged you to stretch your hacking universe, we are thrilled with the original content articles we saw published last year. To go along with this top-tier content, we added amazing art and illustrations from [Joe Kim]. The product is something that demands commemoration in print and thus the Omnibus was born.

This full-color, 80 page, perfect binding volume is just what your coffee table has been crying out for. Of course it will look spectacular covered in solder and clipped resistor leads on the bench. And if your company is serious about hardware you need to send that message with a copy of the Omnibus in the reception area (or comically in the commode).

We are pricing the Hackaday Omnibus 2014 at $15 but we will sweeten the deal if you get in on the preorder. Use this coupon code to get $5 off: OMNIBUS2014. The coupon will work for the first 500 copies pre-ordered with an estimated shipping date of 2/9/15.

Only available in the Hackaday Store: http://goo.gl/EkR9F5

Last chance to enter The Hackaday Prize. It's quick to enter, but you have to outline your idea and make a 2 minute video before August 20th to be considered for the next stage. When are you going to get a better chance of going to space?

Don't miss this Saturday - fun and informal beginners screen printing workshop in Pasadena. Bring your own motif or use seaside/water themed designs (see pictures).

Beautiful dye technique produces variations in color to give great texture on the item you bring to print on (tote, dish cloth, fabric).

Azlyn 7/1/2014: In this workshop we will explore printing with fiber reactive dyes. These dyes are vibrant, colorfast, and can have the look of watercolors. If you plan to print with dyes, please bring pre-washed cotton items (fiber reactive dyes do not work on synthetic fibers, so no nylon, polyester, etc). For best results do not include fabric softener in your pre-wash. We will also have standard water based textile inks available for anyone ...

Hey +Mark Hook , I thought you might be interested in this project - Honeybee Hive Monitoring. Buzz Buzz
The goal of this project is to build a system that records data from a beehive at roughly 5 minute intervals for later analysis. Data will include temperature, humidity and weight of a beehive as well as temperature, rainfall and other data from a weather station. This data will be used primarily to track nectar collection to let me know when the bees need additional boxes for honey storage. I'm also hoping that patterns in the measured data w...

By following the instructions in this book, you will become the manufacturer of an idea. This book is an instruction manual for a product that only exists if you build it. Here are the instructions. I have designed this device so that you can produce your own food, using some inexpensive ikea boxes and the directions in this book. This system uses hydroponics, a farming technique that can be used to grow plants in water instead of soil. The reaso...
