Power meta-data and keyword users, here's what I need to know: I'm looking for a way to batch-edit my research documents using my custom meta-data. (On the Mac, for historical fiction research, btw).

I've already got reams of files and PDFs and notes in subject-labeled folders in my main Research folder. Now I want to batch-select several files at once to apply the meta-data I've created, instead of manually entering it file by file by file.

Surely there's a way to universally apply the custom meta-data to many files at once? My goal is to view my research in the Outline mode, with events grouped by my custom meta-data: time and year, location, people involved, info source, etc. (Note: Keywords don't work for me as well since there are too many.) The ability to sort the research per my custom meta-data fields -- like you would an Excel file -- is what counts.

Question about batch-editing research documents with my custom meta-data:
I've organized reams of files and PDFs and notes in subject-labeled folders in my main Research folder. Is there a way to batch-select several files at once and apply the meta-data I've created? Or another way to universally apply the custom meta-data to many files at once?
