I am so glad that I read this post.  I have been using Class Dojo since it came out and I am even a CD Mentor.  This past school year was the year that I made the choice to not use Class Dojo in the future.  I had one, all it took was this one, parent call me to the carpet for everything that was posted on CD regarding her child.  Instead of using it as a positive behavior tool for her child, she used it to make my life a living hell.  I was being held accountable every minute of every day and became fearful of posting.  I had to stop using it mid-year by saying that there were technical difficulties beyond my control and we could no longer access the program.  I was then called to the office and sat in a conference where I was put down about everything from A to Z with this parent, including my use of CD.  It broke my heart and made me fearful of using anything outside of school again.  I am going to let my fellow colleagues know about this.

This past school year, I considered moving away from my clip chart to using Class Dojo.  I think what attracted me to it was the fact that it was instantaneous feedback based on student behavior. The kids in my class all had ...

I can't believe it is April already! Today was a great relaxing day and I thought a lot about what Good Friday really means. Sacrifice is hard, but it is something we should all take to heart and take into practice as we travel through our lives. Here is what I am currently up to today: ...

Our book club reading over the past few months has been "The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin. This was a slow read because I was trying to take in everything she was telling us. I found that once I realized this was her way of making things right in her life, it was easier for me to read.

A few weeks ago I was given access to MobyMax Pro in order to review the product. I have to admit, I didn't know too much about the website or what it could do for my students, so I was intrigued. With the FSA (Florida Standards Assessment) looming over me, I knew that I was in need of something ...

I think 4 of my classrooms fit into your 1 classroom!  What I could do if I had a classroom that size and all of the stuff that comes with it.  Our school is a minimalist school, so less is more.  It really puts a crimp in what we would want to have as a teacher.  Thanks for this post, it has helped with some of the things that I can make changes to in my room.  Happy Summer!
Hi there bloggy friends!! Classroom organization. Which is an embellishment in my case.  I took some pictures of my classroom the last Friday in May.  Therefore my classroom today is going to look like a Friday in May, l...
It's all about faith, family, and friends.

I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a teacher. Where one role ends another begins and completes the person known as Janine. I live for obtaining knowledge in order to share it with my students and skirting the boundaries for that one last book that feeds my soul. Knowing that I probably won't find a soul-changing book..... I will have to take my pink ink to paper and become the author of my soul.
