Sit back and grab a drink: it’s time for the story of one of my favorite bugs.

Cripes -- how'd I get my mug plastered on the Sydney Morning Herald?
More than half of all public transport trips plugged into a new online fare calculator were found to be more expensive using Sydney's Opal smartcard compared with paper-based tickets.

+Michele Ann Jenkins Numbers are (relatively) easy to compare, quality of life is a lot fuzzier.  In Finland, Singapore, Australia and Japan, pension deductions are mandatory if you're drawing a salary.  Living on dividends alone is good if you can pull it off (I did it myself), but many entrepreneurs don't have the spare year's worth of savings they'd need to survive until the company can pay its first dividends.

Awesome Argentinian! Blood sausage, eight-hour pork and "South American pavlova" FTW.

Chef's choice banquet meal was amazing! Great variety, generous portions, all of it tasty. All share plates too, so a great choice for a group.

The best chicken in Sydney! Crispy and with a killer chilli mayo sauce.

Great atmosphere, reasonably priced, super kid-friendly. Food was a bit uneven though: grilled mussels were tasty, steamed mussels a bit disappointing and chips ("frites") soggy.

Tortillas and corn chips from a bag and sauces from a bottle. Steer clear.

A bright Indonesian spot in Pyrmont serving up tasty murtabak (sweet & savoury), soto ayam (chicken soup), gado-gado and more. No-frills operation with harried service, and the es cendol was pretty mediocre, but rest was good!

Food is standard pub grub, but it's reasonably priced and the place is super kid friendly: kids meals $5.50, play gym, video game corner and face painting/balloon animals in Sundays!

The Lao food here is as authentic as it gets on the southern hemisphere: the papaya salad is soaked in fermented crab juice and the beef larb not only comes in cooked and raw versions, but has bits of tripe mixed in as well. But fear not if this sounds offputting, they do Thai-style papaya salad too and the grilled sausage is not just epic but positively kid-friendly. Docking one star for the mosquito problem in the toilets though...
