I am a well educated woman, a transsexual, a lesbian, and an eclectic Pagan. I am polyamorous, kinky, loving, and giving. I am a caretaker type, who often fails miserably at self care. I have fibromyalgia and major depression, and antidepressants make me suicidal.

I am a widow. The day that my wife died, I said the words "call it" to the doctor, thus finalizing her death.

I am complex, complicated, and worth the effort.

"The bathroom is often the start of trans people experiencing violence out in the world." This – coupled with an experience of hate violence – is why activist Drian Juarez is dedicating her life to the fight for gender neutral bathrooms. Unfortunately, this effort is often met with con

A lot has transpired in the weeks since Indiana Gov. Mike Pence officially signed the Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act into effect. We all know by now that certain subsequent goings-on after the law’s passing were, to put it lightly, disappointing. The most notable of those remains to be

The day I accepted I was transgender and was no longer going to live in the shadows was the best day of my life. I moved to Pennsylvania where I could start my transition from female to male. Unlike Georgia, where I lived most of my life, Pennsylvania gives people the ability to legally change their name and gender without undergoing reassignment surgery. It was a freeing experience. Still, I was far from those I loved and realized I had two choi...

I still think the suicide statistic for trans people is interesting. Almost half the trans people you meet have attempted it and almost all have thought about it, probably a lot.

Introduction
I am a well educated woman, transsexual, lesbian, eclectic Pagan.  I am polyamorous, kinky, loving, and giving. I am a caretaker type, who often fails miserably at self care. I have fibromyalgia and major depression, and antidepressants make me suicidal.

I am complex, complicated, and worth the effort.

Some Favorite Quotes:

Live a good life. If there are Gods and They are just, then They will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. - Marcus Aurelius

When someone shows you who they are believe them; the first time. - Maya Angelou

Yes you have the right to say (almost) anything you want, per the First Amendment. The amendment does not, however, protect you from the private, non-governmental, consequences of your utterance, nor should it. - Janet Logan

Freedom begins when you tell Mrs. Grundy to go fly a kite. - Robert A. Heinlein, Time Enough For Love

Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything—you cannot conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him. - Robert Heinlein, If This Goes On

All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible. - Frank Herbert, Dune

You will get exactly those rights you demand, and nothing more. - Janet Logan

"The more you love, the more you can love—and the more intensely you love. Nor is there any limit on how many you can love. If a person had time enough, he could love all of that majority who are decent and just." Robert Heinlein, as Lazarus Long in Time Enough For Love

"A competent and self-confident person is incapable of jealousy in anything. Jealousy is invariably a symptom of neurotic insecurity." Robert Heinlein, as Lazarus Long in Time Enough For Love

"Nolite te bastardes carborundorum" - Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale

"The mark of your ignorance is the depth of your belief in injustice and tragedy. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls the butterfly." - Richard Bach, Illusions : The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

"Here is a test to find whether your mission on Earth is finished: If you're alive, it isn't." - Richard Bach, Illusions : The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

"Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself." - Richard Bach, Illusions : The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former" - Einstein

"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain."
- Frank Herbert - Dune

“A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave. A soul mate’s purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, and make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life.” - Elizabeth Gilbert - Eat, Pray, Love

The food is very good, but the service was atrocious. We went in as a family group of seven, and it took 20 minutes between being served drinks, and seeing another waiter to order appetizers. It was not terribly busy in the restaurant. At most there were four other tables occupied while we were there.

Several of the machines were inoperative, including the soap machine. The machines that were available did a decent job,
