I am a well educated transsexual woman, a lesbian, and an eclectic Pagan. I am polyamorous, kinky, loving, and giving. I am a caretaker type, who often fails miserably at self care. I have fibromyalgia and major depression, and antidepressants make me suicidal.

I am a widow. The day that my wife died, the doctor came to me asking for permission to stop life-saving measures. I said the words "call it" to the doctor, thus finalizing her death.

I am complex, complicated, and worth the effort.

Conserve water, and save on your bill:
Collecting rain water for your garden, indoor plants, or anything else you need to water outside is easier than it sounds. You’ll need a few supplies, but our friends at Old World Garden Farms makes it sound easy—and ever so important now that the weather is warm and water conservation is mandatory in many places.

Stale cereal is no fun, and yeah, you could just go to the store, but have you seen how much a box of Cheerios costs these days? Here's how to refresh what you have so you don't throw it out:
Pouring that last bowl of your favorite cereal only to find out it’s gone stale is no fun. If you catch it before you add the milk, though, you can usually revive with a quick bake in the oven.

High fuel costs mean that the method shown here may not be worth it. You may be better off adding the cereal to your compost heap.

I've no idea what "stale" cereal might be, to be honest. In my house the stuff disappears within six months or so, and I've never encountered a problem with it.

I've only ever had one bad experience with a pharmacist being nasty about my female hormones under my (still legal) male name. I transitioned socially several years ago, but have not changed my name, for reasons I don't care to go into. I've been on HRT since July 2011. I've lived in 3 states in the South during that time (TX, AR, GA), and all of my other interactions have been professional, and frequently friendly.

I have consistently presented female from a few months before starting HRT. My legal name leaves no doubt that I was AMAB (having Jr as a suffix is a major tell), but the pharmacy techs have all been professional and mostly friendly. Just this week, I picked up a refill from a tech who happens to live in my neighborhood, and she commented "You're looking really beautiful today." I guess my point is that it can be much easier than we build up fearfully in our own minds.
I suppose that the pharmacy is one area I haven't handled my transition as well as I could have.  Or have I?  All I know is my interactions there, in a pursuit to acquire pharmaceutical hormones, have developed rather organic...

I possibly had one issue, but it could have just been incompetence. The first pharmacy informed me that they were out of the prescription so I tried another location. They had trouble because the first pharmacy wouldn't release the prescription (it was electronic; I guess their system had an ability to lock a prescription in some fashion.) It took a day for that to be resolved.

Live a good life. If there are Gods and They are just, then They will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. - Marcus Aurelius

When someone shows you who they are believe them; the first time. - Maya Angelou

Yes you have the right to say (almost) anything you want, per the First Amendment. The amendment does not, however, protect you from the private, non-governmental, consequences of your utterance, nor should it. - Janet Logan

Freedom begins when you tell Mrs. Grundy to go fly a kite. - Robert A. Heinlein, Time Enough For Love

Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything—you cannot conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him. - Robert Heinlein, If This Goes On

All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible. - Frank Herbert, Dune

You will get exactly those rights you demand, and nothing more. - Janet Logan

"The more you love, the more you can love—and the more intensely you love. Nor is there any limit on how many you can love. If a person had time enough, he could love all of that majority who are decent and just." Robert Heinlein, as Lazarus Long in Time Enough For Love

"A competent and self-confident person is incapable of jealousy in anything. Jealousy is invariably a symptom of neurotic insecurity." Robert Heinlein, as Lazarus Long in Time Enough For Love

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former" - Einstein

"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain."
- Frank Herbert - Dune

“A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave. A soul mate’s purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, and make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life.” - Elizabeth Gilbert - Eat, Pray, Love

The food is very good, but the service was atrocious. We went in as a family group of seven, and it took 20 minutes between being served drinks, and seeing another waiter to order appetizers. It was not terribly busy in the restaurant. At most there were four other tables occupied while we were there.
