Applications for the 2014 Google Europe Scholarship for Students with Disabilities (goo.gl/CXjMXq) are now open!

At Google, we believe information should be universally accessible. This scholarship aims to inspire and help students studying computer science or a related technical field to become future leaders in computing and technology by breaking down the barriers that prevent them from entering these fields. As part of our commitment, we’ve partnered with EmployAbility (http://goo.gl/SLRylx), a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting students with disabilities while they pursue education and promising careers.

Recipients of the Google Scholarship for Students with Disabilities will each receive a €7,000 scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Applications will close on Monday, February 17, 2014. For more information or to apply today please visit http://goo.gl/YE3b4Z

I pulled the trigger. It's not 100% done but I realized I needed the psychological boost of it being live/published. So here you go: my first native Android app. What does it do? For those in the Athens, GA area, it gives you latest health inspection scores for restaurants in the 10 counties (Barrow,Clarke,Elbert,Oglethorpe, Oconee, Greene, Madison,Morgan, Jackson,Walton). Give it a download and report bugs to me. :) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.janeullah.android.healthrecords
This app helps you find the latest health inspection scores and health viol...

BlackBerry's New Camera Can Go Back In Time!

I kid you not. They've actually made something really cool. Just take a look at the video. Their new camera can go back in time to capture the right moment. Waiting to see how this technology is developed.

Wow!

Google just approved our first CyanogenMod  phone

Man, the last 24 hours has been a total rollercoaster of emotions, and it isn't letting up it seems.

Google just approved our build for production... we're shipping the +CyanogenMod version of the N1 on Christmas Eve.

My best friend Stephen has an amazingly well-argued blog post in response to one of the typical bad arguments on Facebook.

According to the mother, increased closeness and nutritional support. According to me, ahe gets to work out her emotional issues on her kid.

Is it damaging in a real sense to the little bugger? Probably not; he'd have scads of issues with her as his mother anyway. We all live. Is it being demonstrably socially adverse just for the sake of public attention? Abso-frickin'-lutely.

Microsoft will NEVER call you, unsolicited, to have you check your event logs and then let them "fix" your computer. Never. It's a scam.

Here's a first-person tale by Microsoft MVP Beth Melton who outsmarted the scammers:

Just got a phone call from a company called eProtection (that’s the name they used anyway) trying to scam me. Told me they were authorized by Microsoft to call all registered Windows Users because Microsoft doesn't have a technical department. (Right...ROFL) They’re pretty convincing to those who are unaware. I humored them so I could get the details of the scam. In a nutshell, they have you look in your Event viewer and tell you all of the Errors and Warnings you see are "junks" that are added without us knowing and every time your computer freezes that's when these "junks" are getting into the system and eventually your computer will be "lost". They had me look at other things too, trying to convincing me I was being hacked. I stopped them when they wanted gave me a command for the Run box that I knew would allow them to remote into my computer. I figured the next step was to tell me for a fee they’d clean those "junks" for me and probably add a virus at the same time.

(Post set to Public so feel free to share -- word needs to get out about this!)
