I'm preparing for a panel presentation and I hope #writingworkshop (because I hate just talking about writing: engaging people in the activity of #writing is the best way to "talk" about writing) about   #brandstorytelling I've been invited to participate in the #branding conference because I'm a #writer not because of my business acumen :) So I thought I should do a little research! #branding #storytelling

My short story didn't win #ScreenCraft 's short story contest, but it was in the top 10! So I'm excited and also grateful to Screen Craft for doing such a nice job of posting the 10 finalists. #shortstory #contests #screenwriting #writing Also, if you write short stories, I highly recommend submitting to this contest and paying the $20 for feedback. Screen Craft's readers are excellent--honestly, the best feedback I've ever gotten on a piece of my writing!

a #cnfgram about the great political #writer #MollyIvins who once lived in my #Austin #Texas neighborhood. What I wouldn't give to hear her voice in this #primary #electioncycle.

An excerpt:  "In memory of Molly Ivins. Writer and neighbor.
The bench bearing that dedication sits in the Travis Heights neighborhood of Austin, Texas, where Molly Ivins lived for many years. I live here, too, though I can't say "my neighborhood." Not yet. I've only lived in Austin for three months. (A lot of Texans are quick to inform me that I'm not a real Texan, something I am made painfully aware of when I get on the Interstate--a terrifying endeavor on its own--and endure furious honking, dangerous tailgating and numerous birds flipping in my direction.) Molly Ivins was a real Texan (one born in Monterey, California). While she wrote to give a clear political picture of the legendary state of Texas, she also increased and eventually became part of its folklore."
