The covenant is an intrical part of the  judeo/christian belief system. the first covenant was with Adam and Eve. God granted them eternal life and dominion over all of the beasts and trees in the Garden of Eden, as long as they did his will and refrained from tasting of the forbidden fruit. This covenant was broken when first eve and then adam tasted of the fruit with a serpent. This act corrupted Adam, and Eve. So they were cast out of the garden. the next covenant spoken of in the Bible is the covenant made with Abram in which God commanded Abram to get away from his family and fathers house to the land of canaan where God would make his descendants into a great nation. I am not certain but I believe the next covenant was made between Moses and The Almighty and happened on Mount Sinai. Moses stayed in the presence of the lord fasting for forty days and forty nights while being give the law and ten commandments. Moses is most generally credited as being the author of the Torah. Jesus Christ, in christian tradition, was sent from heaven and is credited with establishing a new covenant between God and mankind. This is where Jesus gives himself as a sacrifice so that he might suffer in place of all mankind, not only jews, but everyone who puts their faith in his teachings. It is in my opinion necessary in modern society to take a close look at Jesus’s interpretation of hebrew law. Unfortunately there is very little in the way of Jesus’s understanding of Hebrew law. Most of it comes from Matthew during the sermon on the mount. There is a teaching of his which I believe should be part of any covenant with God. You should put God first, your family next, then all others, and finally yourself. I personally take this to mean that you should ask God’s blessing, through prayer and meditation, before any major decision, and not to worship anyone or thing more than God, such as alcohol, tobacco, so on and so forth. In this day and age it is easier said than done, but I truly believe that if you make God a major part of your everyday life then you are infact living up to this obligation. Jesus taught that not only should we not kill, we should not be angry with each other unjustly. In this day and age there are a lot of things to be angry about. I believe that if you try to control your anger as well as you are capable and temper it with understanding (seeing things from the point of view of the one you are angry with) that you are infact living up to this obligation. I also believe it is important to not only try your best to not name call and slander in the spirit of anger, but to seek out the forgiveness from those who we do slander and name call in the spirit of anger. It is also important to forgive those who slander us, and not judge them harshly. After all modern society is a stressful existence, and most people have let slip the occasional slur. In general I believe it is important to try and treat everyone with love and respect. I also believe it necessary to visit the sacrificial aspect of worship during Jesus’s era. In modern society I think that if you give to the church, or help out those in need you are sacrificing of your self for the benefit of Gods work. Jesus also taught that whoever looks at a woman with lustful thoughts has sinned against her. Lets face it with the sex sells approach to marketing and modern styles of clothing we have a hard time looking in any direction with out seeing a women who we are interested in. In my opinion between, sexually mature couples, in sexual relationships whatever both parties agree to is permitted. I do believe anyone who looks upon a child who is sexually immature with lustful thought is committing a major sin and should ask for forgiveness, and anyone who commits a sexual act with a sexually immature child should not be allowed into the kingdom of heaven until there soul is penitent. Jesus taught that you should not judge people or you yourself would also be Judged. Lets face it we are a catty society even from the male perspective. I truly believe that as long as we all try to treat each other with love and respect regardless of how we think or talk about their behaviors, or personal appearance then we honor each other as humans and honor God. I may be considered sexist for saying this, but i believe it is important to try to follow traditional gender roles within a family unit. I don’t believe that to not is sinful, but i do believe children benefit more from a home with a traditional mother and father raising them. I also do not believe homosexuality to be a sin as long as it is between sexually mature partners. In closing I would like to say that the most important thing we can do as a society is love and respect every single member of our planet regardless of their belief system opinions wrongdoings or sexual preference. I also truly believe that all those who believe in an ultimate creator God regardless of their understanding of that god, who live a just and righteous existence according, to these moral standards, who have empathy for their fellow man, will infact be allowed to see the kingdom of heaven in some aspect or another according to God the father’s will.It is wrong to lie except in a circumstance where to do so will keep an idividual physically safe.It is wrong to steal unless it is necessary to ensure someones physical welbeing. It is important to ask your fathers forgiveness when you commit any sin. I also believe that those souls who have managed to live by these moral standards who have already been subjected to hell fire must be purified through a rebirth into the kingdom of earth for another chance at redemption.

More on posture.
You're slumping in your chair aren't you? If you want to be better at work just say no to slouching.

The most understandable explanation of Higgs boson, I've seen / read the last few days

As the NYTimes puts it, this physicist "explains the Higgs boson in a way that makes you feel like you understand it. Almost."

Blood test to diagnose adult depression.

"The first blood test to diagnose major depression in adults has been developed, providing the first objective, scientific diagnosis for depression. The test also predicts who will benefit from cognitive behavioral therapy, offering the opportunity for more effective, individualized therapy. The test also showed the biological effects of the therapy, the first measurable, blood-based evidence of the therapy's success and showed who is vulnerable to recurring episodes of depression."

Interesting thought

It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Coonsidering how increased automation renders not only more and more blue collar but also white collar jobs redundant, this approach may be the only viable strategy in the long run, though of course the financing will be... tricky.
This post previously appeared on Business Insider. By Adam Taylor Switzerland has a very direct style of democracy. For example, changes to the constitution, or "popular initiatives," can be proposed by members of the public and are voted on if more than 100,000 people sign them. If a majority of...

Nice visual illustrations to support product development. Seems to be a nice way to map out epic and user stories in agile development.

I like this guys holistic approach to managing a design project - it just makes sense his way. I've liked 37signals products from the start even while at IBM where we couldn't compete with simple web app products such as campfire.
