How is it that as we 'progress', we actually go backwards?

Western countries did progress but the "persons of color" countries did not.

Agreed, because it's true. True, to the core.

Do you agree?

This is a well crafted site, but most importantly, it's a very informative way to remind us that slavery is not a thing of the past. Only takes a couple of minutes.

HTML5 / CSS  -

Woah, I just got caught in a CSS bear-trap. Has anyone else experienced pseudo elements doing weird s##t to anchor tags - namely, cloaking any links that they might be overlapping?
I'm just curious as I was stumped trying to figure out why half a button had lost it's linking mojo. Turned out someone (not me, honest) had used an :after to apply a background image to the button's containing div, which I thought was weird.
I fixed the issue by applying the background rule to the div directly. Button was happy then.
Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a way to have pseudo elements and anchors play together nicely? Say, for some impossible reason, I absolutely couldn't avoid using :after to apply the background image?

Yeh, true true. That's how I use those pseudos normally, like for sliding-door buttons or something, so I thought it was weird how it was used in this case.

It could be said that this quote highlights a major flaw in our education system.

Such a moving performance. Billie Holiday was one of the greatest musical talents to have ever lived. True true.

She didn't have to put anything into her song it was there. She, it is told, was to have said that that song was requested a lot by white men and that it took a lot out of her to sing it. I read her autobiography and it is one of the saddest and moving lives I have ever read about.
