DC's Holocaust Museum and Arlington National Cemetery have banned Pokemon Go on their premises and advise players that if they find in game locations on their property to report it as inappropriate location to Ninantic, the game developer.
“We feel playing ‘Pokémon Go’ in a memorial dedicated to the victims of Nazism is inappropriate,” Andrew Hollinger, the Washington, D.C., museum’s communications director, told Yahoo News. Players have to physically walk around to different locations to capture and collect the game’s Pokémon characters

A wealthy investor and owner of a corporation, writing for a magazine that has been a conservative institution for a long time, is arguing that corporations paying substandard wages are ruining the economy for everyone.

People are starting to get it.

"The difference between these two economies is stark. The real economy pays the wages that drive consumer demand, while the parasite economy erodes it. The real economy generates about $5 trillion a year in local, state, and federal tax revenue, while the parasite economy is subsidized by taxes"

"The real economy provides our children the education and opportunity necessary to grow into the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and civic leaders, while the parasite economy traps them in a cycle of intergenerational poverty."

You can't effectively grow an economy when people don't earn enough to drive demand.
Why low-wage work is bad for business—and all of us.

Two-thirds of Americans would have difficulty coming up with the money to cover a $1,000 emergency, according to an exclusive poll released Thursday, a signal that despite years after the Great Recession, Americans’ finances remain precarious as ever.

House extended the voting on the bill so the majority leader could personally go around and intimidate Republicans thought to be voting yes to flip their vote.

It failed by one vote. Bill would have required non discrimination policies for any corporation receiving federal contracts.
It was a chaotic scene on the House floor Thursday morning after an amendment to help protect LGBT people from discrimination failed by just one vote.

Opponents of the anti trans law HB2 have been trying to point out disturbing aspects of the law that haven't hardly been mentioned in debate over it.

HB2 in addition to the discrimination against trans people, also makes it harder to sue in discrimination cases of any kind in state and local courts and prohibits cities and counties from setting a minimum wage higher than the current state minimum.

Local opponents of the law are trying to make a case against it based on these aspects to poor workers and minorities of the state who tend to lean conservative.
The legislation also limits attempts to set a minimum wage and how people can sue for discrimination.
