I am happy for the increased competition but T-Mobile and Sprint's coverage areas are not great. I was on T-Mobile's $30 plan for a while but switched to a much more expensive AT&T family plan because I was tired of not having service when I traveled or even during segments of our daily commute.
I always find it interesting that when carriers brag about coverage, they show coverage maps with huge swaths of coverage in the middle of rural Montana or Idaho. Good for the all of five people who will get bars there.
What coverage maps really ought to show is deadspots and building penetration in metro areas where people actually do live.
