With services like Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, and HBO Now, 2015 is the year we can finally say goodbye to our cable TV subscriptions. But how much will it cost you to cut the cord — and what channels will you be leaving behind to do so?

The average American mobile phone bill amounts to well over $1,000 a year. That’s more than home Internet and basic cable combined. It doesn’t have to be that way, and your wireless company knows it. Startups like FreedomPop know it, too. Now, it seems, so does Google. A Google executive...

I am happy for the increased competition but T-Mobile and Sprint's coverage areas are not great.  I was on T-Mobile's $30 plan for a while but switched to a much more expensive AT&T family plan because I was tired of not having service when I traveled or even during segments of our daily commute.
Google is planning to sell wireless phone service directly to consumers using the networks of Sprint and T-Mobile, according to reports published Wednesday. If everything falls into place, Google c...

I always find it interesting that when carriers brag about coverage, they show coverage maps with huge swaths of coverage in the middle of rural Montana or Idaho. Good for the all of five people who will get bars there.

What coverage maps really ought to show is deadspots and building penetration in metro areas where people actually do live.
