I don't agree with this entire message, however, freedom of speech isn being limited thanks to a very zealous Mayor's office who is trying to make amends for murdering two of its officers.

As a criminal defense attorney who represents individuals who are accused (sometimes falsely sometimes not) of crimes, this article says it like it is.  The police go in areas where the crimes are committed. They generally don't target people because of their race. Overall, the police are our protectors.  Every so often, there are a few officers  that deviate from what I just stated and trump up charges/plant evidence/perjure themselves at trial.  However, police as a whole are a necessity for a civil society. As Charles Barkley says "We would be living in the Wild Wild West (without police officers".

A few things....Judge Laura Johnson is an excellent judge.  As a criminal defense attorney who handles the majority of his cases in Brooklyn, I am fortunate to deal with judge Johnson quite often. She is not afraid to tell you how it is in a respectful manner but most importantly, she will make a decision without caving in to political pressure.

Additionally, I enjoy reading articles written by Josh Saul but am a little troubled that Mr. Saul's editor decided to go the route of attacking a judge to shift blame from what is going on with our imbecile....I mean our mayor.  The mayor is a joke who has zero respect for the NYPD, yet a judge who releases an individual on his own recognizance because of threats he allegedly made is treated as a murderer.

Pure rubbish! Laura Johnson is not Al Sharpton, the Mayor or even the protesters shouting they want cops dead now.  Laura Johnson made a judicial decision and should not have articles written up stating that she should have blood of her hands just in case something happens in the future.   The Post should focus on the evils that incite hate which include NYC's mayor, Al Sharpton and individuals who decide to use their fists instead of their brains.

As Mr. Souid's attorney, I am glad to see that my client did not get jail in this matter.  Sadly, I believe that Mr. Souid was a political scapegoat for the NYPD for which he will be in New York until February 2015.  Thankfully, justice prevailed.

People are dumb! If one chooses to protest, it should be done in a peaceful manner.  Once you start assaulting police officers, you will always lose and should be prosecuted.  Let your criminal lawyer battle it out for you in the courtroom.

As a Brooklyn criminal defense attorney, I only wish Sanford the best.  However, what I find troubling in this situation is that Sharpton nor any of his so-called "associations" aren't attacking Sanford personally to protest an "injustice" of another innocent person.

As a criminal defense attorney in New York City, even if you think a criminal matter is petty or trite and that you are given a desk appearance ticket in lieu of an arrest that would have taken you to central bookings, I suggest you hire a qualified criminal lawyer for any and all matters.
