By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large Detroit’s police chief, James Craig, is joining the growing number of law enforcement leaders who say that America’s national security interests are best-served by its citizens going about their business armed. Craig declared that the high number of casualties resulting from the recent terror attacks in Paris would not have occurred had the citizenry there been packing heat. Speaking recently to The Detroi...

A great idea here, but I am sure the liberals will be horrified... #nra   #gunrights   #2ndamendment
By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large If you’re one who agrees that gun-free school zones actually put kids in greater peril, you might want to think about moving to Ohio. There are now at least 40 districts in the state that allow teachers who have concealed-carry permits to carry firearms while on the job. In many instances, the boards of education that have approved this policy have done so at the insistence of parents who’ve not bought int...

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large Leave it to a Chick-Fil-A to try to counteract the efforts of high-profile incidents committed at other, popular fast-food franchises to marginalize police officers. Recent photos taken at a Chick-Fil-A in The Woodlands, Texas, a suburb of Houston, shows both employees and patrons wearing t-shirts that read “Go Blue or Go Home,” as well as “Back the Blue.” While restaurant manager Eli Advincula admits that...

We get tons of questions on how to become a published author of children's books. Here you go...
By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large Lots of people think about writing books for children, but just don’t know where to begin. When it comes to being a children’s author, the “voice” needed is very different from that in which you speak as a writer of adult books. Additionally, the format, the rhythm of children’s books, can be a little tricky to master, if you’ve historically spent your time thinking, speaking, and writing as an adult (whic...

Well, can you blame them for using their common sense? #trump
By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large In the wake of the Paris attacks, U.S. governors are going on the record to declare that their states will not accept any Syrian refugees as a part of the ongoing migration crisis. Presently, governors of at least 24 states have said that no refugees will be accepted, and it is likely the list will grow in the coming days. Since authorities have indicated that at least one of the suspects involved in the P...

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large Amid enormous, worldwide concerns over the threat of ISIS, several passengers on a recent flight from Mexico to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City were able to skip past required customs and security screenings upon their entry into the United States, due to an undefined mix-up at the gate. A total of 13 people out of the 76 passengers and six crewmembers on board American Airlines Flight 1671 from C...

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large Earlier this year, USA TODAY published their findings of a review they conducted of federal energy records, wherein they learned that the nation’s power grid is struck by either a cyber or physical attack every four days. As they reported, a significant outage that lasted even just a handful of days could disable a wide variety of devices, and lives would be placed in jeopardy for a variety of reasons, to ...

Members of an East Texas religious group want Lakewood Church Pastor Joel Osteen to testify in their criminal case. Six members of the Church of Wells were escorted from Lakewood church in June after police reported they disrupted services. The men were charged with trespassing and disrupting a public meeting. "At the end of the day what these guys did was go to a church and quote scripture," said defense attorney Jon Stephenson. "We don't believ...

New article here on how I dropped cable TV two years ago. #cordcutters   #dropcabletv   #savemoney   #frugal   #christian
Until recently, most people considered my vocation as a writer the most interesting aspect of my life. The moment that someone learned that I was an author, they had a hundred questions to pepper me with. My status as an author has been eclipsed, however, by the jaw-dropping news that I dropped cable TV two years ago. Well, not just that I terminated the service, but that I have completely replaced it with free and low cost Internet TV. Yep, pret...

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large Whenever possible, it is a good idea to combine dynamics of self-defense with your fitness training. Fitness, in and of itself, is important, of course. However, in this day and age, it is also prudent to help “steel” yourself to the increasing threat climate that surrounds us all. To that end, heavy bag training can be especially useful, because it is one of the very best ways for someone to develop strik...

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large In addition to the work I do at Christian Money.com, I’ve been an I.S.S.A. Certified Fitness Trainer (CFT) and Specialist in Martial Arts Conditioning (SMAC) for many years now. My interest in hardcore training began when I was in the military, and continues to this day. I believe in regular, ongoing preparation to put oneself in the best position to neutralize a street attack, should such a thing unfortun...

I had a great experience with this dealership. We wanted to buy a Jeep but needed to get a good deal and keep the costs down. We worked with Blake Webb and he made it happen. We were able to get a slightly used Jeep with low miles and for a great price.

This was the best food I have had in Palm Coast. I have never been to a Carabba's and this one just opened up a few months ago. I will usually go to Olive Garden when I am in the mood for Italian cuisine. The food was just amazing and the service was top level as well. It did not seem at all like a chain restaurant. What a wonderful evening. I will be back again soon!

They installed two new axles two months ago on my VW Rabbit. One of the axles completely came off the car while my son was driving it in Orlando. We had it towed to a nearby shop using our AAA service and the mechanic told us that the axle was not even installed correctly. The warranty on the part only covered a portion of the bill, leaving us owing $144. I called the Palm Coast Tuffy concerned about all of this. Our son missed a day of work and was put in a very dangerous situation as this happened on the interstate. JJ Jensen, the manager was very nice and told me to bring by the receipt for the amount we had to pay and he would send it to his corporate office to see if they would reimburse us. He told me to fax it or come by. So this morning I dropped by and was shocked at this guy's reaction. With ten customers in his lobby he was yelling at me with a very condescending tone demanding for me to explain why we did not take the car to another Tuffy shop in Orlando. It was unbelievable. I will never, ever, use Tuffy again. $500 and this is what we get?

They have very good pizza, how they run the place is very odd to say the least. First, they don't have a sign letting you know this, but they only accept cash. You won't find this out until you get to the cash register. They have an ATM right next to the cash register for people to use to get cash. Secondly, they have a very strange method of fulfilling orders. You order your pizza slices but are required to stay standing up in the line until your pizza is ready. You are not allowed to walk down to the register and pay and then sit down and wait (yes, you must stand and wait 10 to 15 minutes). If you question this they will basically tell you that this is their system and they will not change it. Really a shame since the food is so good. I don't know why you can't pay for your food and be assigned a number and they take your name like most other places. You could then take your drink and go find a table and relax and wait for your pizza slices to cook. I guess this 'system' is what is easiest for them without regard to the customer.

My wife and I love Aviles Street. We discovered this amazing Italian restaurant with great prices and the best service we have had at any restaurant in St. Augustine. After a wonderful meal our waiter brings out a free dessert and two glasses of wine to go with it. The meal was amazing as were the surroundings while eating at a little table on the sidewalk in front. What a wonderful night. We could not give this establishment a higher endorsement.
