Although James Kirk received a
degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina, he wound up
pursuing a career in data center technology in Seattle, Washington, where his
love of writing and film resulted in several unproduced screenplays, one of
which, Chasing Devils, finished as a finalist in the American
Zoetrope screenplay competition.
returned to South Carolina in 2010 and has busied himself with a number of
projects including opening a coffee bar, authoring a job search manual, and
performing market research for several national brands. He also works as a copy
writer and contributes to on-line publications including The Lexington Anchor
and WhatCulture.com. His story was included in the bestseller The $100
Start-Up by Chris Guillebeau.
Presently Kirk works in brand development with The Hill Company and serves as co-director of StoryboardAmerica.org. He lives in
Lexington, South Caroliona, with his wife and daughter and a Labrador retriever
