Summary: As Apple's financial disclosure draws near, analysts are comparing iPad sales numbers with those of the Android tablet market. The problem with that is there is no such thing as the Android tablet.

Oh, James.... I just going to tell you that you have to remember the World is not the United States. That you do not see much ipads in your environment does not means there are not people using them.

If by any chance you come to visit my country, I will drive you around malls and universities, take  you to visit friends We could tally how many ipads vs Android tablets people are using and you might get a surprise.

Summary: Usually when we get a shiny, new gadget, the impact on data usage is the last thing on our minds. If we use the device for work, we'd better pay attention.

Introduction
I have been using mobile devices since they weighed 30 pounds, and have been sharing my insights on mobile technology for almost that long. Prior to joining ZDNet, I was the Founding Editor of jkOnTheRun, a CNET Top 100 Tech Blog that was acquired by GigaOM in 2008 and is now part of that prestigious tech network. My writing has appeared in many print publications: Smartphone and Pocket PC Magazine, Information Week and Laptop Magazine to name a few. My coverage of the mobile technology sector has regularly appeared in the New York Times, Salon.com and CNN/ Fortune online. Not just a writer, I have filmed many video reviews and how-tos that have garnered well over a million viewers. I have appeared on local news segments and been interviewed by the Associated Press on mobile technology topics. Additionally, I have been podcasting about mobile technology for years.
