This is going to be one insane project.

Google is preparing to stomp into yet another market: Home services. To do so, the search giant is scooping up the technical team behind Homejoy, the startup that connected online users with professional cleaners.

As Re/code reported today, Homejoy will cease operations at the end of the month in the wake of multiple employee reclassification lawsuits. Around 20 members of Homejoy’s product and engineering team will be joining Google to build out the company’s technology for matching local professionals — lawn mowers, painters, plumbers, cleaners and the like — with online users, according to sources.

From the race track to the streets.
Water injection made its debut under the bonnet of the BMW M4 MotoGP Safety Car. The BMW Group Innovation Days marked the first presentation of direct water injection in the prototype of a model from the BMW core brand. The precisely controlled injection of water into the engine cylinders produces a cooling effect that boosts power and torque, particularly when operating at - or close to - full throttle, and at the same time it reduces fuel consumption and emissions.

Introduction

James H. Hobson is the president of E-Platform Marketing, LLC. Known to friends and associates as "Jim", he has over twenty-five years of real world business experience including field level sales and marketing, senior managment and entrepreneurship with operations ranging from small business to Fortune 100 environments. Jim has leveraged this knowledge, along with a passion for helping businesses to grow, to build a very successful internet marketing company, based in metro Atlanta, Georgia, with clients nationwide. The following is Jim's story . . .

It was shocking as a young man to learn that many people in business (and government!) are motivated by power, greed and ego. Long ago I committed that if I ever had my own business it would be an environment where there were rules and expectations on personal conduct, as well as a robust application of integrity and honesty on client interactions. My personal business philosophy is to focus on the client and the money will follow. Any business that focuses on the money will be a business that is reviled (hello yellow pages).

In the beginning I contemplated career paths ranging from law enforcement or career military to being an attorney or geologist. I chose to pursue Geology which I found very interesting however I could not find a passion for advanced mathmatics. Being more of a "people person" I switched to the field of marketing, and graduated in 1983 with a degree in Industrial Marketing. Upon graduation I came to realize that in order to make a good living, my marketing degree had it's greatest value when used to find a good sales position. With that in mind I moved into what would come to be a very rewarding career path.

A sales career improves a person because you must always increase your intelligence, social skills, organization and scheduling skills, as well as develop stamina and tenacity. A sales career will also help you to define, good or bad, your ethics and morals. Sales afforded me the opportunity to live in different parts of the United States, and travel to other countries. The net benefit, relative to my career, is that I have been introduced to varying cultures, thought processes and practices. It is a natural extension of my childhood in Louisiana where we know how to blend cultures and have fun in life. All of this has definitely shaped me as an individual, husband and father.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, and doing volunteer work coaching youth football or youth baseball. I also mentor college students in business and marketing disciplines. As a former student-athlete I understand the important life skills that can be learned on the playing field. I enjoy having the opportunity to help instill confidence, knowledge, and personal discipline in the young people I meet. I believe that serving as a positive influence can help to build the good character traits that youth need to be successful in life.

I thank my parents for raising me in an atmosphere of civility and decency. This is certainly because my family holds traditional Christian and Southern values, respects the value of an education, and shares a long standing participation in the United States military. Discipline, honor and loyalty are just a few of the values I took with me from my parent's home and into my business career. I appreciate every second my parents spent to raise me well, and keep me out of trouble.

I am blessed with a wonderful wife, three terrific children, a life in the greatest country the world has ever known, a group of kind and decent friends, and a good business. I express my greatest thanks in my praise to God, my family and my clients as I seek to make the best of every day that I am given.

OK - most importantly the food is good (for fast food). Service varies a lot from day to day. Pick up is consistently 10-15 minutes however; delivery is a nightmare. The time for a delivery order is usually quoted between 1-2 hours. They seem to have trouble scheduling an adequate number of drivers. In two years I've only used delivery twice because I was lucky enough to be quoted 40 minutes or so. If you want your pizza hot, and reasonably fast you should go get it yourself. If you want delivery, set your expectations low.

Extremely pleased with the results! I wanted a major system upgrade to give my BMW a highly customizable sound platform with depth and clarity. Sandy did a super clean installation of a Pioneer AVH-x4700BS double din, and twin Pioneer GM-D1004 400 watt amps hidden away in the trunk. The wiring retains my factory steering controls, added hands free Bluetooth for my iPhone, and it pushes music through the 10 Bavarian Soundwerks speakers in awesome fashion. Their prices are very reasonable, attention to installation details very good and scheduling was easy. Sandy knows his business. We went through a consultation on what I wanted and expected. He made perfect recommendations on equipment, and knew exactly how to handle the complex BMW factory wiring. After installation he took plenty of time to walk me through settings, and showed me how to get the most from my investment. I'm extremely pleased and recommend this shop for your car audio needs - especially if your looking for something performing far above average.

Excellent body repair shop! Get with Jerry Hurley and he will work with you to get your car repaired in a timely manner, and with great results. It's worth mentioning too that they have extremely good painters. Maaco did an all over paint job on my BMW several years ago. This week they handled collision repair. The body work is flawless, and the paint match is perfect. I definitely recommend not just Maaco, but THIS particular Maaco shop for your paint and body shop needs.

This is a hidden treasure if you like authentic Thai food. In viewing this as a small restaurant (not a big 5 Star restaurant) I offer the following: The service and ambiance are excellent. It's nicely appointed, with a calm, quiet atmosphere. The food is definitely authentic, freshly prepared and the presentation is very nice. The prices are unbelievable for this level of quality. These people pay attention to detail. Whether it's lunch or dinner, this could become and remain one of your favorite restaurants in the Kennesaw/Woodstock area.

Sketchy repair shop! I have rewritten my original review and demoted it to 2 stars. This place will never touch my car again. After a very good initial experience things unraveled miserably. My rep (Tony) put the final nail in the coffin with a "couldn't care less attitude" and failure to follow up on a mess after I paid $2,500 for work. I took my car to them and had at length conversations on my car's situation. I advised them that coolant was being used, car had run hot, and I believed it needed a head gasket. They agreed it needed a head gasket, gave me a price and I agreed to proceed. I told them that since the motor was going to be torn down that far, to let me know if anything such as hoses, clips, etc looked like they needed to be replaced. They came up with many such items, and told me the oil filter housing was leaking oil. I agreed to have all items repaired. I picked up the car about 10 days later. Only 2 days after having my car back my alternator light comes on, and I lose power steering. I pull into a driveway and my car is spewing steam. I open the hood to find the main serpentine belt shredded and wrapped around the fan blade. The radiator hose had blown off of the thermostat housing (the hose is new and undamaged, it was simply not secured). The thermostat housing and hoses were removed as part of their work to replace thermostat. The belts and hoses had been previously replaced, had only about 15,000 miles on them and were in great shape. And it's worth noting that despite being all over my car, and making numerous add-on work suggestions, they never said a word about the belts - and every mechanic quickly spots bad belts. This fiasco happened on a Saturday. I called the shop and spoke to Tony. He had no real interest in addressing this, was totally indifferent to the situation, and started making excuses about "the car is old and has a lot of miles on it". The parts in question are new, and he knows that, so his argument is ridiculous. Rather than wait 3 days to pay for towing and fight with them I replaced the belt, secured the hose and bought BMW coolant. While doing this work I checked the 3 other clamps on my radiator hoses - NONE of them were tight! I tightened them and my car was done in just over an hour - and at my expense. After 9 days he's never called back to check on this situation. I find it EXTREMELY odd that belts this new would fail. I personally did the cooling system overhaul and know how well I tightened the hose clamps. There is NO EXCUSE for a hose to blow off. Also, they told me my oil pan is leaking and needs a gasket at a cost of $550 - my car is tight and not dripping anything! I will say that (so far) the head gasket work seems to have been done satisfactorily, although they really beat up my firewall when pulling/replacing the head. I've worked on cars for over 30 years and do most of the work on my car. I also know what kind of games dealerships and repair shops play with people. The difference in this case is that I know what I'm talking about and can see what's going on. Bottom line, I don't trust this shop or appreciate the attitude. They will NEVER work on my car again. I strongly advise people to not use this shop - there are many other quality BMW shops in the area from which to choose.

Wow! In less than an hour of requesting a service call the tech pulled into my driveway. I needed heating repair on a Trane heat pump and the phone rep said they have almost any part that might be needed. The repair tech did a check of my system and found a faulty switch. Yes, he had the part on his truck and the repair was done in about 30 minutes. He also changed the air filter and let me know some maintenance tips. I feel that this company does care about its customers. Their price was less than I expected and I recommend them for heating and air conditioning repair work
