Sorry for the click-bait title, that was just for fun. But really, you won’t believe this unless you see it. Imagine for a second, you’re car shopping. Hybrids have been on your mind, so you decide to do a little research and get some info on Toyota’s flagship hybrid, the Prius. You open up Chrome and […]

We're feeling good about this, especially the "real-time" factor. Hopefully this will make it easier to manage, and more proactive on controlling the bad guys.

A Google patent application filed last year describes how Google could recognize entities identified on webpages, and use that knowledge to understand what those pages are about, and not show duplicacted content in search results because of that knowledge.
When you use Schema Vocabulary in Markup on web pages, you make it easier for a search engine to know what a page is about, enabling it to reduce duplicative content being indexed.

Very interesting.  Thanks for sharing Mike!

A great read from +GeoAwesomeness. A very interesting, somewhat speculative analysis of the Apple Mapping Van program's cost, data and post processing needs and capability.

The mapping van system on the rooftop is only one part of the equation. A single Velodyne laser captures 700 000 points per second which for 2 devices adds up to 5 billion points per hour. Assuming that 1 point is 1 byte we get 5 GB of data every hour. But that’s not all. In order to get high enough of image density each van has to take picture every 10 meters (looking at Google Street View). If we have 6 cameras and every image is 5MB, we get 30MB every couple of seconds. It makes 3GB of images per 1 km. With average speed of 30 km/h (20 mph) we get around 1 TB of data per hour. In total 8TB a day per car.

As he says, that's a lot of data.

Introduction

James H. Hobson is the president of E-Platform Marketing, LLC. Known to friends and associates as "Jim", he has over twenty-five years of real world business experience including field level sales and marketing, senior managment and entrepreneurship with operations ranging from small business to Fortune 100 environments. Jim has leveraged this knowledge, along with a passion for helping businesses to grow, to build a very successful internet marketing company, based in metro Atlanta, Georgia, with clients nationwide. The following is Jim's story . . .

It was shocking as a young man to learn that many people in business (and government!) are motivated by power, greed and ego. Long ago I committed that if I ever had my own business it would be an environment where there were rules and expectations on personal conduct, as well as a robust application of integrity and honesty on client interactions. My personal business philosophy is to focus on the client and the money will follow. Any business that focuses on the money will be a business that is reviled (hello yellow pages).

In the beginning I contemplated career paths ranging from law enforcement or career military to being an attorney or geologist. I chose to pursue Geology which I found very interesting however I could not find a passion for advanced mathmatics. Being more of a "people person" I switched to the field of marketing, and graduated in 1983 with a degree in Industrial Marketing. Upon graduation I came to realize that in order to make a good living, my marketing degree had it's greatest value when used to find a good sales position. With that in mind I moved into what would come to be a very rewarding career path.

A sales career improves a person because you must always increase your intelligence, social skills, organization and scheduling skills, as well as develop stamina and tenacity. A sales career will also help you to define, good or bad, your ethics and morals. Sales afforded me the opportunity to live in different parts of the United States, and travel to other countries. The net benefit, relative to my career, is that I have been introduced to varying cultures, thought processes and practices. It is a natural extension of my childhood in Louisiana where we know how to blend cultures and have fun in life. All of this has definitely shaped me as an individual, husband and father.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, and doing volunteer work coaching youth football or youth baseball. I also mentor college students in business and marketing disciplines. As a former student-athlete I understand the important life skills that can be learned on the playing field. I enjoy having the opportunity to help instill confidence, knowledge, and personal discipline in the young people I meet. I believe that serving as a positive influence can help to build the good character traits that youth need to be successful in life.

I thank my parents for raising me in an atmosphere of civility and decency. This is certainly because my family holds traditional Christian and Southern values, respects the value of an education, and shares a long standing participation in the United States military. Discipline, honor and loyalty are just a few of the values I took with me from my parent's home and into my business career. I appreciate every second my parents spent to raise me well, and keep me out of trouble.

I am blessed with a wonderful wife, three terrific children, a life in the greatest country the world has ever known, a group of kind and decent friends, and a good business. I express my greatest thanks in my praise to God, my family and my clients as I seek to make the best of every day that I am given.

Excellent work and customer service. I needed a small job done (door handle). Small jobs are not big money, and often a pain to work in around big jobs. Jeff had it scheduled and completed in less than a day. The paint color match and finish quality are perfect. The business name fits like a glove. I highly recommend this shop!

Judging by the Kennesaw location Copeland's has gone downhill in a big way. I've visited Copeland's a LOT since it opened in 1983 in New Orleans, and I think I'm now over it. This review is based on the last three visits which all were very disappointing experiences. The food is consistently bland and weak. Examples: The roast beef "debris" po-boy is dry (no gravy and certainly no "debris") - it's not legit. The red beans and rice is just that, no andouille or ham, just rice and beans, so for the price it's not legit. The buffet misses the mark as the fried catfish is mushy not crisp, the etouffee is a bit oily/greasy, and the jambalaya is falls way short of good. All in all the food here is not of good quality, and certainly not for the price they charge. While the service staff is reasonably attentive they do not perform as one might expect - when you ask for a to-go box they should put the food in the container, not simply drop it off on your table. They are actively walking around so it's unacceptable to see straw wrappers, etc. on the floor. It's not a good feeling when you take guests to a place and they don't like it. I just cannot see going again to Copeland's. There are other exceptionally good choices for Louisiana food in the area.

Excellent Mexican restaurant. The staff is friendly, food is well prepared and they have some unique dishes. Prices are reasonable and plenty of parking. This will probably become your favorite Mexican restaurant in Woodstock!

This is an exceptionally good funeral home. Firstly I will compliment the Carmichael family for operating an ethical and well managed business. Second I want to compliment Steve for all of his work in managing my son's funeral, and exceeding my expectations. The personnel are all very professional, the premises are immaculate and they pay attention to every detail. They can help you to plan your funeral without being pushy salespeople as with so many other funeral homes. Carmichael Funeral Home will work with you to deliver a service that makes the best of a bad time in your life. My family agrees that we made the right choice in choosing this business for our funeral needs. I highly recommend this business.

Outstanding service! I needed a 4-point alignment for my BMW 528i. It's an automotive service that few companies other than a dealership will do. I spoke to Angel to discuss the specifications and expectations. He assigned the job to Kaz who absolutely nailed it! After his work every single alignment specification was dead-on OEM tolerances. The car drives like it's brand new. Big thumbs up to Angel and Kaz for doing a truly perfect job.

Today killed any interest in ever going here again. Lunch has always been decent but the experience at their "Brunch Buffet" was a complete failure. From the rude service and mediocre food to the ridiculous prices this place shows signs of a failing business. First, arrived with plenty of open tables it took almost 15 minutes to have anyone speak and seat us at a table. Next, after waiting another 15 minutes I had to stop a waitress and ask to have a waitress come to our table. Although it was 1p.m. all we were given was the menu for the Brunch Buffet . . . with no price, and a long list of what it included. The buffet did NOT include everything shown on the menu, and the food was mediocre. The wait staff was inattentive and rude - they acted like you were being a burden for expecting even a minimum level of service. The price for one person with a beverage was $24.27. (My son looked at the buffet and decided he had no interest in it.) I understand that sometimes there are slip-ups but the entire experience was horrible. It was so incredibly bad that I don;t see ever going there again.

Formetco knows outdoor advertising! Their products, especially the LED billboards, are well designed and have an incredibly sharp image display. The billboards are made in the USA, and their prices are extremely competitive. They have a technology center where you can view working demos of various sign sizes which makes it easier to know what you should order.
